# AKG K7XX Tube Amplifier/DAC Advice

Hello again.  
Thanks for the great input.  
I am VERY SATISFIED with my amp/dac setup. I really don’t have a desire to start tube rolling at this point…however, I would like to have a back-up tube on hand. Any recommendations for the Vali 2 for around $20 (US)?

I’d go with the [Electro Harmonix 6CG7](https://www.tubedepot.com/products/electro-harmonix-6cg7-6fq7-eh-preamp-vacuum-tube). I talked about it a little in my [review of the Vali 2](https://www.headphones.com/blogs/news/schiit-magni-3-vali-2-amps-solid-state-vs-tube-hybrid-review-comparison) (and Magni 3).

The gold-pin version isn’t really worth it … if you want to spend more, buy a bottle of De-Oxit.
