Hello! What I’m looking for are headphones for recording guitar amps in the control room with the main monitors off/muted. I’m looking for a replacement for the studio monitors so open-back is what I’m looking for. Isolation isn’t a concern.

Heddphone D1 or Sennheiser HD 490 Pro seem like good contenders.

For this use I’d prioritize a neutral midrange, low distortion, and comfort over isolation. The HD 490 Pro is a strong choice and easier to wear for long sessions; I’d also consider the Neumann NDH 30 if you want a more speaker-like presentation. The HEDDphone D1 may be excellent, but its weight and fit are worth trying before buying.
