My wife wears our DT 1990 Pro more often vs my/the Elegia and asked me last weekend, when we finally get this tube amp, I was talking about. If it would not make sense to get it earlier 
I had planned to get a tube hybrid like the Mjolnir 2 or the Feliks Audio Echo in august.
But now that our trip to a baltic sea island got cancelled and we get the money back… she is full time working at home and so it really would make sense to get it earlier.
For now she uses a SMSL M6 or her Fiio BTR3 at her desk with the 1990 and is ok, though could enjoy the Beyer more.
Our RME ADI 2 DAC fs > THX AAA 789 stack is in the living room, where I do my listening and working.
The ifi xDSD+Elegia, is with me at the offices(I am 2 days remote working and the rest of the time, is still for me with driving to the offices).
While the ifi beeing the best pairing we have for the 1990s, I don´t want to use the Elegia out of my Earstudio Es100.
There is also a Fiio Q1 II, she could use, though somehow this little sucker is feeling underpowered and was planned to been gifted to a friend in exchange for his help with a Bottlehead Crack build before C19
so long story short … there are these moments
now I have to decide what to get, with a 800 Euro budget, after some cancelling fee’s and shopping some nice Fjällräven backpacks for her and him get
subtracted
The M2 with the - by Jeremy @jb77 recommended - tubes would get me slightly over the budget, if I get the unit used for sub 700 + around 280 for the tubes + taxes
the Feliks Audio Echo is 499 with no extra cost - maybe later some other tubes - though a bit weak
the Feliks Audio Espressivo Mark II is 799 - I will have 800 as budget … so this is very tempting! though still a bit weak
the Lyr3 is still in the race
plan B would be to get a DAP and give my wife the xDSD, though this is not my preference at the moment. A powerfull Ttbe hybrid, would make most sense for the 1990s, the 6xx and the HEDDphone or a Aoelus, I want to get.
