My pleasure. And just in case you see differing opinions from others, please know I am relatively new in these parts. So while quite dogged in my research and eagerness to learn, I’m no veteran.

Never mind. For ZMF check on their website: they have a list of sellers all around the world. If memory assists me Electromod sells ZMF in the UK.

I am looking for over the ear phones because I get too much feed back with buds.

Yes. I need over the ear headphones with microphones but also bluetooth for phone conversations.

Sennheiser Momentum 3 fits the bill.

If you’re in the UK check out Acorn Audio here, which is one of ZMF’s dealers (see here). I believe you can test drive the ZMFs at Acorn Audio.

Sorry, I might have been a bit obtuse. I guess you feel that the Singxter SA1 just won’t generate slam whatever headphone you use, however good it is, and I like it a lot, it’s just not capable of doing that. I do find the Singxter and Ananda can be great with classical music and does work well with most rock. Just that if your looking for real slam the pairing is not great.

Sorry, I’ve not heard the Celestee. Check out Resolve’s review of it, though; he provides comparisons and measurements.

Focal is definitely the thumpiest brand I’ve heard thus far; bass impact is outstanding, as is bass resolution. I’ve typically had to add a bass shelf to the open-back Focal headphones I’ve experienced, as they marginally roll off in the lower registers; but, seriously good bass overall to my ears.

The Singxer SA-1 does sound good when paired with a synergistic headphone. It pairs well with Monolith M1570 velvet pads and would generate acceptable slam.

Hello everyone, Happy Sunday! I have a bit of a dilemma on my hands. I am looking for a portable listening solution for home, travel, and work. I have a Chord Mojo and a set of DCA Aeon Noire. I do enjoy this combo, especially the build quality comfort and sound of the Noire. I have been contemplating getting a pair of IEM’s instead of the Noire and the Dunu SA6 has been on my radar. Do you think I am better off sticking with the Noire or moving to an IEM? Just looking for opinions to persuade me in one direction or the other since I cannot make up my own mind

My main concern with Focal is their reported timbre, I’ve not heard any of them but it’s said to be significantly off. I’m not sure if it would be a significant issue for me. Possibly.

Thanks’

It’s not significantly off, only just a bit metallic sounding at times depending on what you’re listening to.

Your milage may vary, but when on-the-go, I much prefer IEMs simply because they isolate better than closed-backs while also being (and looking) less intrusive. To me, on-the-go is all about portability; and nothing beats IEMs for that in my experience.

The SA6 is a fantastic IEM for the price, so if you do go that route I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. You’ll need to find the right tips for it, and possibly using a lighter cable, but it sounds great.

Thanks for the advice. Do you like the stock tips or is there an aftermarket set you can recommend? I’ve heard the stock cable is pretty good but heavy. Is there a cable that you like better?

Thanks for the reply. If you look through the back and forth communication, you’ll see where I had repeatedly asked, and asked again, for specific answers.

I finally had to bullet point out the same questions, with a specific request that he answer them. And some were missed. I literally had to say, which I did very clearly, to “please reply with an answer to these questions”… And the questions weren’t new.

I can post all the back and forth to the forums here if you like, but I doubt that’ll help either of us.

Had he been able to answer my questions, and been quicker to respond, I’d have purchased with you all. I spend a lot of money each year on A/V equipment (I’m easily into the 6 figures this year alone), and I seldom struggle this much.

Other vendors have been much more responsive, have answered my specific and direct questions, and the process was far easier. So, they’ve received my business.

I powerlift / bodybuild (off season) in Koss Porta Pros and love them. They stay put on my head, are indestructible and sound great. I hate weightlifting in closed backs or IEMs because I brace myself and hold my breath during reps and that sorta pressure it makes in your ears drives me nuts with any headphones that seal.

Stock tips are good, but I went with the Azla Senda Earfit Lights; they’re gripper and keep the earphones snuggly in place. I also replaced the stock cable because it was too heavy and would pull the earphones out of my canals; total shame, as the cable is so well built. Oh well - happy now.

This is the only board I know where “stock tips” means something completely different.

When I started on the iem journey what suprised me most was fit issues.

It’s not uncommon to hear people say they bought an iem and then wound up spending $100 on tips trying to work out the fit.

Not that this is a deal-breaker but if you didn’t know about it you might want to factor that into the process.
