With the original cable, you could probably get a blank female socket and test it but no idea how you could do that with the IEMs

I’m guessing that the cable you lost is not this one shown in the manual?

But another cable that was simply USB-C on one end and 3.5mm on the other?
You might get someone to make you a replacement. Perhaps 1More can supply you with the pin documentation.

Well, this is not a picture of a cable, it is part of the neck of the headphones. But this manual page does mention the cable. As for 1MORE, they are unable to provide anything. They told me to search for “reputable sellers” on Amazon and that “it” (presumably the headphones) supports QC1, 2 and 3. Which is irrelevant, as we are talking about a non-charging cable! Plus they have discontinued the model and cannot provide a replacement… As for getting someone to make a replacement: Who might this someone be in the era of no repair shops for sound equipment? I am now posting questions on Amazon in case anyone actually understands the problem. Unlikely though. It seems I need to dish out for a new pair of headphones just because of this. But I assure you, 1MORE is over for me.

I’m 99.9% sure that the 1MORE 3.5mm to USB-C cable incorporates an ADC, likely works in HOST mode, and is powered from the USB-C connection on the neckband.

The closest thing you’re going to find to that, I expect, is something like this.

I’m highly skeptical that the above cable would work - and I can imagine that the fact it provides microphone power would cause all sorts of issues with non-microphone sources. But it is, at least, a 3.5mm INPUT to USB-C OUTPUT.

Thanks, this is certainly going in the right direction! Whether it will actually work (and work well) is anybody’s guess! I could ask the seller, and who knows what answer I’m going to get. There is often a clear lack of technical competence among those who reply to questions. But again, thanks!

Yes, I was looking for something similar and found

Which also appears to be a more generic ADC system.

@MuseMan, someone like Amplifier Surgery would be someone who might make a cable. I have had wired 1More triple-drivers for a couple of years, keep em in my car in case I need to use them with my phone and I don’t have the Koss handy (I also have an apple dongle for them). They were decent quality and not that costly.

I did find one more item, which MAY be an audio USB-C to 3.5MM pass through, but I’d call or contact before I’d buy it, even at ten bucks. It talks about being an adapter and doesn’t talk about DAC or ADC, but info it too sketchy NEW! USB-C to 3.5MM Audio Adapter - Lexin Electronics

Thanks for the suggestions. Still, the V7 again seems to be in the wrong direction - the headset is USB C in my case, not 3.5 mm. Amplifier Surgery might be worth contacting. The Lexin item looks rather dodgy, and the 3.5 mm is female.

Update: There is an answered question precisely for using it from 3.5mm on laptop to USB C on headphones. The answer from manufacturer is no, it will not work.

1MORE told me to look for reputable amazon sellers. That’s great help… I think this sort of cable is simply not produced because there are only two cases where it’s actually used (to my knowledge): My 1MORE earbuds and LG TONE Free FP9 earbuds. I found the cable for LG on ebay but it is now out of stock: Genuine LG TONE Free FP9 Headphones Replacement - AUX 3.5mm Audio Cable USB-C | eBay . I think barring something like that, I can forget resolving this problem without buying new headphones. Oh, and comments for LG say that they are also useless in providing a replacement. I suppose customer service much less of a true service, involving repairs and replacement parts, than it used to be. I mean actual service, not just money back and returns. Now you’re expected to buy new stuff every couple of years and be happy.

Sorry you had to learn the hard way but now you know you’re on your own to find the products that fit your needs.

Anything custom or proprietary puts you at the mercy of the company. Standard cables and connectors give you a much better chance of finding replacements.

Hopefully you can find some headphones that will last you a long time.

Sorry for your difficulty with the cable, but do they not still work over BT?

Almost universally true in the lower price ranges, less so as you move up the ladder. If they were mine, I wouldn’t waste hours trying to figure out a proprietary cable design. If 1MORE won’t tell you exactly what the cable is, move on to something better and more standard as soon as the budget permits.

And let us know if you get something different – lots of us like to hear/see what others get. There’s a whole thread dedicated to it.

The earbuds work fine over bluetooth. But that cable allowed me to connect them to devices that have no bluetooth: Screens on planes, my digital piano. I figured out the obvious solution though. A bluetooth transmitter with a 3.5 mm cable. The transmitter connects to the audio producing device via 3.5 mm and to the earbuds via bluetooth. There are plenty of such transmitters on the market (unlike that cable). Why? Because many people have bluetooth headphones that they would like to connect to plane screens and televisions! Whereas there are only two headphone models that use the cable I lost, which is thus not on the market. Simple.

Update: This will work well for all purposes, except a digital piano. A few ms latency is always there, and this will ruin real time playing. Thus, I’ll get dedicated headphones just for the piano.

IEM tip recommendations please:

I got some Camfire Audio Satsuma B-Stock, which come with the Final Type E, foam, and silicon tips.

After trying all of them, I settled on the Final E XL tips, but I feel none of them fit ideally for best sound.

When I push on the IEMs to make them seal better in my ear canal, I hear a vast improvement in bass and overall clarity.

The L foam tip is too big, M foam too small, so no go. The L silicon doesn’t seal as well as the Final E XL, so no joy either.

Any thoughts on something comparable to Final E, but even larger than XL tip? Not sure where to look now, maybe I have weird ears!

I know better sound is out there if I can find the right tip!

BTW their B-Stock looks flawless to me, CA must be super picky!

The type of headphone/amp/DAC I am looking for is (Closed-back, open-back, in-ear, wireless, etc): bluetooth over-ear headphones. I have tried the Px8 / Px7 / Sony xm5 most recently and i don’t like them. Sony xm5 had too many connection issues for me and were not that comfortable. I just sold my xm4’s. The sound of the BW were just not that impressive for the ridiculous price. This may be silly but i do want some decent looking headphones haha. I am not too flashy (looking at you 5909) but will deal with it if the audio distracts me.

My price range is: 1000’ish

I like to listen to: Jazz / Folk / Hip hop / Reggae / Acoustic / Rock / Metal etc. - all genre’s really

I will be using them for: (Travel, commuting, home, gym, etc…): Travel / commuting / home. Thanks in advance!

I have the Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless over-ears and I’m happy with them. Very comfortable, dead-simple to use (I have an iPhone), and they sound great. I haven’t had connection issues. Only minor complaint is the music sometimes pauses when I’m adjusting the fit on my head. It has been fabulous and it was only about $230 USD when purchased before the holidays.

Have you looked at the Focal Bathys yet?

Less than $1,000?

Focal Bathys. Well reviewed. Very good sound for BT. I have not tried them. $799.

Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless. The previous model in this line. Good sound with a V-shaped signature, which is pretty standard for most wireless, consumer-oriented headphones. $300ish.

Final Audio UX3000. Perhaps the best value in wireless over-ear headphones at just $150. Neutral sound for a consumer-oriented TWS headphone. But … the cups are small. We’re talking puny. If you have big ears, these cups will be too small.

Thank you. The UX3000 are immediately out as my old lugs are not on the tiny side and I am not a fan of anything touching my ears.

I will probably have to order both the Sennheiser and the focal and see what my ears prefer, live with them for a week or so.

Thanks again.
