@MarCo7, I can concur what Marcello has stated. They’re gorgeous!
I really love the beauty and elegance of the WA7 firefly Woo Audio design. They really stand out in a world of some very ugly, basic, functional, or nice looking stuff. They to me at least from photos I have seen are a departure from the boring basic everyday looks from most other audio gear. Have you done a write up about the sound @antdroid and done comparisons to other amps in their class?
Thank you both, I’ll certainly take a look at them. Hope they ship all the way here.
Where is all the way here?
SKorea. They do ship here, for 50euro
Here is the relavent side of my battle station. I know the pegboard looks weird. My office/mancave is actually a “granny” unit in our backyard that the previous owner used as a shop. Hey- I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, we take what we can get!
SPL Phonitor e and a RNHP powered by a Topping D90. The currrent headphones are an Arya and a Focal Clear.
And yes, The Dude approves!
Nice setup! How do like the Arya vs the Clear?
I have three of these, love em!
Oh, aside from both being in the realativly neutral tonality ballpark they couldn’t be more different. I’ve been through many headphones and these are the two I’ve kept (or kept out and not packed away). The Clear l is detailed, flat, merciless, and had no stage. The Arya is wide and deep, and all layering and interesting presentation and prettiness. Having them both out at the same time makes for some nice contrast.
Did you ever audition the Ananda’s vs the clear or arya?
Not directly. I auditioned the Ananda vs the LCD-X and preferred the LCD-X. Then later on I auditioned the Arya vs the LCD-X and vastly preferred the Arya.
So by the Transitive Property of Headphones if LCDX>Ananda and Arya>LCDX then Arya>Ananda. Right???
Great setup, Andrew.
It’s incredible how much energy, research and experimentation has gone into that little pile of electronics.
Yup. And when it’s done right, you forget about all of that noise and just lose yourself in your music. That’s where the magic lays…
Also, your headphone stand really ties the whole place together.
Yea, man. [cough, cough]
cool you kept the RNHP - that says a lot!
I remember your setup a few months ago, which already did rock!
Great setup Andrew. Love the picture too.
LH Labs Revive > Light Harmonic 10G usb > LH Labs Pulse SE (custom modded) > Straightwire Encore II XLR / AQ Water RCA > SPL Phonitor XE or Schiit Valhalla 2 into Phonitor XE.
I have an iFi AC iPurifier in the all + Furman PST-8D power conditioner powering everything. Along with AQ Monsoon and NRG-z3 power cords.
Headphone stand is a custom build by a friend.
Beautiful set up. I’m sure a lot of time gets lost sitting there .
Great setup! That’s some pretty awesome gear. I also like the compactness of the rack. Very cool.
