The Verum 2 is a 12 ohm load. The Verum 1 is the 8 ohm load.

I just got my V2 today… Yeah, it was worth the wait 100% Typically when I get a higher end headphone I hate it for at least a week or put it in a drawer for a while. These are instant bliss.
I don’t even know what to say, they’re so good. It’s like hearing my music for the first time. I think I won my audio game, at least personally.
Now I have two chains, Dragon + Atrium + SU-9 and Centaraus + A70 + Tungsten. And I’m finally happy with my setup. I really don’t see any need to go any further than this, or try anything else. It’s exactly what I want and better than I could have imagined. I need to move my dragon onto this desk or turn on the other computer with the dragon on it and have a listen, I just don’t want to take them off though.
It took many years and a lot of equipment to figure out what I wanted, and I could have just bought these two chains for what I’ve spent but I wouldn’t have known that’s what I wanted. I learn by hearing first hand then listening to what people say about the headphones I own to understand what a headphone might be like. I’ve found who I agree with and who has different ears, and this was the final result.

That’s right. I’m glad you’re happy with the Tungsten, and I agree with you as an owner of a DS v1 that I’ve been very happy with.
It actually does live up to the hype, even though it’s been over-hyped and still has an interminable wait. Mine took a year to get (and I’ve had it for a bit over a year now), and I bet yours took about that long too. Which really is a drag, and a sizable disincentive to most people.
Anyway, it was mostly worth the wait, and congrats on finally getting yours! Post some pics if you feel like it.
HD 6xx series has a clamong force that I never liked, just too tight…nice cans though.
Have T’s DS, Hedd D1, and Verum 2.
All good, but the Verum 2’s are a very afforable T type planar and you dont need spacers for bass. $500 is a steal compared to other planars.

So does Ryan reach out before he ships to make sure there are no changes to the order?
I also ordered mine last August and have tried to confirm 3x that I want the V2s, that I now need XLR instead of 4.4, and to add hex grills. Crickets.
I can wait but zero communication is contemptuous and unnerving.
Does Ryan limit his communication filter towards waiting customers only, or does the silent treatment extend to customers in need of product support as well?
Glad to learn the cans continue to trickle out.

Just an update for anyone following along.
I heard back from Ryan regarding my August 2025 order. He confirmed my order is V2 and that my request to switch from 4.4 mm to XLR has been noted.
He also wanted to confirm the grill colour, so my order appears to be active and the requested changes are being tracked.
No word on when the order will be ready, but I was glad to receive confirmation that everything is still moving forward.

On my journey to audio nirvana, or perhaps a nervous breakdown, I seem to have landed quite happily on the Empy 2s. I love how musical, comfortable, and forgiving they are.
My hope is that the Tungsten V2 DS will complement the Empys by bringing a bit more resolution, separation, and detail to the table. It will be interesting to see whether the difference is significant enough to justify owning both headphones long term, or if one eventually ends up moving on.
Ideally, the Ferrum stack paired with these two headphones will finally cure the urge to keep upgrading.
Fingers crossed. LOL.

It sounds like you have another 6-8 weeks of waiting ahead of you, and I’m glad you heard back from Ryan. I think (hope) you will like the result at the end of the day.
As I’ve said before, I’m very happy with my DS v1, in spite of the seemingly endless wait. Let us know when you do finally get them, and post some pics!

Right there with you. Ordered a single-sided v2 in August 2025. And have heard nothing. Granted, I haven’t asked about it. But IIRC when I ordered, the stated wait time was 6 months. My gosh . . .

Have you noticed posters are identifying what is obviously poor support and ridiculously long response times? Just pointing out that there is a alterative that is available which garners excellent reviews at a very reasonable price.

I mean definitely, I was one of them, even cancelled my order.
But there’s a lot of alternatives to the Tungsten (and much cheaper). Was just curious why you recommended the Verum 2 so much, is it tuned identically?
The D1 for example is very highly rated and a fraction of the price.
The D1 is indeed a good buy. No issues there.
I had started a thread about the Verum 2 here, and it was removed for reasons not explained. I was told that the Verum 2 could be mentioned, but not have it’s own thread. Make of that what you will.
A former member here (Adyula) reviewed the Verum 2 on another site, and he was as excited about its performance as I was. He’s not easily pleased.
My intention was to not sound like a bot, but the Verum 2 is as good or better than many of the headphones listed at several times the selling price. Just wanted to let the readers know it’s worth an audition.
For what it’s worth, I didn’t view that reply as strange. It’s a world apart in impedance, but otherwise it’s sort of a similar choice – a planar made by a guy in his workshop who has a following (mixed, as I understand it, but I’ve no interest in getting into that).
