I have been into the hobby since 2015. I went through many headphones before I found ZMF. I first got the Eikons and then upgraded to the VC. I am getting either the Auteur or the Verite as my open back pair. I am currently powering my headphones with a Questyle CMA400i or a combo of the Cambridge CXN and a Torpedo 1 tube amp.
Some of the headphones I have owned:
B&O H2, NAD HP50, Fidelio X2, HE-400i, MSR7, MSR7SE, A990Z, A1000Z, A2000Z, R70x, Elear, L700, SR-007 and SR-009.
Amps and dacs I have owned:
NAD D1050, Marantz HD-DAC1, LD MKII, SMSL SU-8, SRM-007tII, Octave III, KGSShv.
I initially just wanted more clarity and more details in my headphones. This led me to try a lot of Audio Technica headphones. I then learned about Stax and got deep into that hole. But when I got my first ZMF I felt that I had finally found what I had been looking for all the while. The ZMF house sound just ticks all the boxes for me. A warm, lush, inviting sound that has all the clarity an detail that I need. I am home now, this is where I will stay.
