Seems totally reasonable not to render a judgement when they’ve only had them 24 hours at that point.
Battery replacement is around $70—less than a replacement for both earpieces for regular AirPods. Regular AirPods seem to last about two years under heavy use; given these batteries are much bigger I think it will be longer before they degrade enough to require replacement.
