If anyone is interested in buying an OCC silverr upgrade cable for the Composer, here is my review of the Arctic Cables Aeris (V2)
Great EQ, takes the edge off a bit and adds fun. Think this is the first time I’ve seen Resolve add bass to anything.
Filling in the 2khz adds some shout/grain, feels like it doesn’t quite fit the smoother profile of the sound sig but without it it’s a joy to listen to at higher volumes
Good news here. I saw the suede pads at CanJam NYC. It’s an easy swap. And I’d love to have a case for the Composer.
I heard that Griffin (Listener) doesn’t like this headphone. Is there any chance to learn what exactly did he find problematic with it? It would be especially interesting to know what he thinks of it’s upper treble in isolation (to whatever degree that’s possible) from the overall tonal balance.
my complaints were grain in the lower treble + sibilance in the upper treble + scooped 2 kHz making the midrange muddy
Thank you so very much for your response!
I understand that it has to be quite hard, if possible, to recall by memory, but would you attribute that to a “peaky” in situ treble response due to the idiosyncrasies of the interaction b/w the headphones and your head (HpTF) + relatively fine grained features of your HRTF, or rather just a wide band elevation in the treble additionally exacerbated by the 2 kHz dip, i.e. general tonal balance being on the bright and thin side?
