I’m a fan of Glen Garioch and AnCnoc, as well as the Hibiki ideas from @Roark and the Oban suggestion from @pennstac if you’re looking for suggestions! Also, as someone who is in NY struggling for space, I very much envy your dedicated audiophile office setup haha. I echo @Tchoupitoulas, would be great to get the NY contingent together sometime.
I’ll be out of town for the holidays but pandemic permitting, it’d be nice to arrange something to look forward to in the depths of winter! Or in the spring, when we’re no longer hibernating?
I’ll defer to the group based on comfort/what we would want to do meetup wise. Probably needs it’s own dedicated thread or private convo with interested people!
hey, I think I have those same exact slippers, lol - they are great
Keep me in the loop, I’m in the CT/RI border, but can try to make the trip depending on when it is
I think my desktop setup is locked in at this point.
PC w/ Foobar WASAPI → Supra Hi-Speed USB Cable → Bifrost 2 → Jotunheim 2 Balanced / SW51+ or Hagerman Tuba RCA → ZMF Aeolus / Sennheiser 650
I’ve cycled through a ton of gear but landed on this. Both Bifrost 2 and Jot 2 work perfectly here as something that stays on 24/7, non fussy and reliable (Schiit service has been good to be). No tube DACs or USB DDCs or nuclear reactors needed here, they are just something to have turned on and accessible when needed.
SW51+ and Hagerman Tuba, wanted a neutral sounding amp with a small footprint to compliment the darker BF2 and my darker headphones. Both are very good here and my go to choice for when sinking into the music. It’s a toss up between the two, the Tuba is much more neutral and sweet sounding while the SW51+ has this insane texture and depth to the music. I’ll have to decide eventually…
ZMF Aeolus and Sennheiser 650/6XX, well not much to say here other than that they are my two favorite headphones that have passed through my collection.
I hate cables and I hate seeing cables. The only visible cable in this setup is the USB cable as I wanted to keep the run as short as possible on USB. All other cables are routed through a spine on the right that moves as the desk lowers / raises. And everything else is routed / mounted to the bottom of my desk. Bifrost 2 is mounted with outdoor strength velcro.
Great cable management.

Just curious how did you “glue” your B2 under the table?
Thanks! It’s weather proof velcro, holds up to 25lbs and easily peels off when no longer needed. Old trick I use to use for everything.
Hey Bob, Absolutely stunning setup you have there!
Neat setup. I wish I could keep my desk this tidy
Care to share a link for future reference? Thanks! ![]()
Those ties are also good to have. A few years ago I purchased a pack of tie mounts for my guitar pedalboard. Ended up never installing them. Anyway, it may be useful for cable management as well.

Thanks for posting - your setup is definitely worthy. Is that the 011 Dynamic I see? Wutcha got inside of it?
Thanks! Yes, it’s the O11 Dynamic XL. i9-7900X, 32GB, Strix 1080Ti. I’ve been trying to upgrade the GPU, but I’m sure you know what that’s like. It’s getting time for a full rebuild. The latest Intel gen is nice. Maybe wait for the 4090, which is supposed to be great, if the GPUs ever will be in stock again.
Very cool! I wonder if you would like the headphone hangers I posted above. Might be slick to hang your Susvara on the side…
I’ve been looking for solution, the $20 stand in the picture works if I only have one headphone out, but I’d prefer something better.
Looks good!
I can definitely relate - been trying to get a 3080 or better for a long time; I did score a 3060Ti from the Newegg shuffle though, so not bad. Planning a 12700K build and am leaning toward the Fractal Torrent for my case.
Anyway, nice system you have there!
Great rig.
