DT 1990 Pro MKII

Beyerdynamic’s DT 1990 Pro MKII is doing the same thing as Sennheiser with the 490 Pro, 2 different earpads, one for mixing and the other for producing (they used to call them analytical and balanced).

Price is at 549 Euro.

Comes also with a hardcase, two cables and two earpads, additional 6.35 adapter, however not with a headband replacement like the 490 Pro.

Really curious as to how this will perform or whether that’s just a copy paste release from Beyerdynamic to have something to compete with?

Anyone has gotten to try it yet?

I wouldn’t say they are similar to the HD490 Pro. It was actually the other way around—the DT1990 MKI came with two pads before the HD490 Pro was released.

When EQed I find the 1990 pro mki to be a great headphone. Much better to my liking than the HD600

Has anyone measured them yet?

AFAIK only this reviewer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvroDGn_B98 right now.
I’m not familiar with the rig; it appears to be a flat plate that lacks the typical ear acoustic load. But since he compared it to the DT1990 MK1, you can make an educated guess by doing a relative comparison and I wouldn’t expect it being much different in the treble than the OG.

Thank you, seems like it’s still a Beyerdynamic in terms of sound signature, not that far off from the predecessor with better bass response. Treble at 15k seems to be worse though LOL, how is this more tame than the predecessor?

Although I didn’t know that Poland is part of Germany.

Oopsie. I did mix it up with other video that I was watching. Fixed.
