That picture is phenomenal! Holy bokeh Batman!
I just stole this picture for my avatar on Head-Fi. I hope you don’t mind. If you do, I’ll take it down. But it’s so good!!!

Go for it.
I’ll post better later.
I just happened to have the A7rIII w/ the ZA 50mm f/1.4 on the desk when these showed up. I might break out the Leica and the Noctilux (50mm f/0.95 ASPH) a bit later …
Thanks man!
Awesome camera setup. Jealous over here
Took a bit of a break due to my ears getting hot, and finding a bit of hot-spot at the top of the band (paradoxically, its where the gap/inset is) …
Might have to re-do that shot a bit later with the Ferris wheel and docks all lit up, and with the Loxia 21mm (a sunstar monster).
Back to listening …
Crazy dynamic range on that. Amazing. The headphones too!
It’s a single shot too, not an exposure-bracket and HDR conversion.
Zeiss know how to cut glass.
Yeah I figured. A7RIII is a DR champ. I’d love to go full-frame at some point too (or medium format hah!).
Back to the topic at hand, seems like a lot of people are getting their orders. Looking forward to more impressions. So far it’s been a nice sanity check that my experiences line up with those of others.
I don’t quite know why the “Atomic Blonde” soundtrack has become so prominent in my early “just sit and listen” routine with new headphones.
But it has.
“Stigmata”, on that album, is an interesting track for getting a base feel for speed, delineation and overshoot. Very interesting comparison between HEDDphone, SR1a and MySphere here …
Because all those songs are awesome. Just saying
Well, there is that …
Client’s, well, “Client” album is well worth checking out on the HEDDphone …
Dire Straits, “Money for Nothing” (Brother’s in Arms) …
RME ADI-2 DAC fs, Auto-Ref Level: ON, at 0 dBr, into Phonitor X -> HEDDphone.
First time I’ve ever had the Phonitor’s volume maxed.
This threw me way off on my first listen I was thinking something was wrong with my setup lol…
What’s going on INSIDE the HEDD with that yellow light. These aren’t self-illuminating, are they
This is a milestone.
It’s honestly off putting, as even my ZMFs rarely see 12’o’clock on the Phonitor…in fact unless I’m messing with RME settings and having the volume output on that lower than 0db I don’t think I’ve ever really gone above 1pm on the volume…
This is genuinely surprising, as the HEDDphone was developed (to my understanding) using the Phonitor.
The AMT driver is a semi-translucent material (PTE, polyethylene terethphalate), which has a gold-ish hue. A little LED light from behind and there you go …
