Very cool!
Nice to see they’ve made real ergonomic changes and that they didn’t stop there.
Shall have to get a listen at some point then.

LOL!!! Exciting…I skipped the first HEDD, if this impresses you guys…going for it
Some quick show impressions from CanJam London: CanJam London 2023 Impressions Thread | Page 10 | Headphone Reviews and Discussion - Head-Fi.org
Nice impressions. I agree - I quite liked the original HEDDPhone and didn’t think the weight was all too bad. It’s a little unfortunate that it’s been forgotten since I think it delivers a unique enough sound signature that would be very enjoyable for a certain set of people. Did they mention what the new HEDDphone 2 would cost?
I saw the number $2,000 being tossed about.
Don’t know if that’s accurate.
Looks like they’re significantly improved across the board … with one exception … the switch to 3.5mm TRS connectors on the headphones themselves. Seriously, I hate TRS connectors on headphones. I mean, it could be worse, and they could be 2.5mm, but still, that’s not what TRS connectors are for AND it’ll make any cables someone already has for the V1 useless for the V2.
Still going to spend the time to listen to a set. Just that if I then buy them, I’ll be doing surgery on them to swap the connectors for something sensible.
For no particular reason at all I realized we did not have a B&K 5128 measurement of the HEDDphone V1 up.
Posting it here, now, for no particular reason.
This one is interesting since it seems like most people are happy they moved away from the mini XLRs. Will be interesting to see once they are out in the wild and a couple of months are put on the connectors.
“I do miss the magic in the upper mids and treble the original set had”
Hmm… that seems worrisome…
I’m actually in the opposite camp! @VSG and I usually disagree on headphones above 3kHz (him enjoying the planar presentation, me generally disliking it). Hearing its likely a little too reserved up there for him means HEDDphone 2 will likely be excellent for me
I think it might be your kind of thing. Relaxed ear gain in general.
planar presenatation… You mean well tuned
But yeah in all seriousness I do think this is more up your alley than the first one.
Edit: Looks like the official launch is in 5 days
I look forward to reading/watching reviews of the V2, as well as seeing measurements.
heck ya man! i’m hyped
I have a big noggin and my v1 HEDDphones have always been a challenge for comfort.
This might sound drastic, but I had decided I was always going to keep them so made a decision to change something to help.
My solution was to cut off the bottom section of the yoke below the pivot point and this has instantly transformed their comfort.
The cups can now pivot without the bottom of the yoke hitting the cup and mini XLR and they now sit flat on the side of the head.
At the same time this has reduced clamp force and also the pressure on the top of the head, so much so that I’m baffled why they had the bottom section to the yoke in the first place.
