I don’t think they’re any thicker than the Geekria ones.
HiFiMAN sells the suspension headbands on their own, but I don’t know if it’s possible to swap it over to those. Aliexpress has some third-party suspension headbands but they look quite cheap and flimsy. Not sure what other options other than Audeze but it’s currently hard to obtain the yoke kits.

I didn’t have the gen 2 HE560 long enough to form clear sound impressions before it broke, but I did dig up some measurements, and it measures very similarly to the HE6SE, just with less sub-bass extension and even more aggressive upper mids.
So far, the Verum One perforated leather pads are the only ones that bring down the upper mids at all. Unfortunately, they introduces some 1 KHz honk, and they lose some sub-bass. It’s a pretty pleasant tonality, but sounds less impressive than stock.
So far, I actually like the stock pads the best. They do something special with the bass and they sound noticeably more detailed and tactile than the alternatives. I’m messing around with EQ now to see what I can achieve that way.
The suspension headband that Hifiman uses for the Sundara, Ananda and HE6SE V1 is useable on the V2. You can’t use any of the screws you get with the headband however. If you remove the original headband, you can align the holes of the headband with the holes on the cups and use the screws of the original headband.
It can look a bit wonky when installing it, but I can confirm it fits and holds up perfectly. Just like the other headphones with that headband, you don’t get any swivel however. That’s not a problem for me, because with the angles pads it fits my headshape perfectly, but ymmv.
Yeah, I’ve been chatting a bit with the seller and it sounds very interesting. The seller will ship to the USA, and they confirmed that it’s a dual-sided magnet array, which bodes well for having some of that slam and dynamism of the HE6SE.
I only just got the HE6SE and am almost finished tweaking it to my liking, so I think I’ll probably pass on the NAN-6 for now. But if I start to see actual listening comparisons that compare it favorably with a Susvara, that would change things I have no idea what kind of outfit is behind this thing–if it becomes popular, hopefully they can ramp up production to keep up with demand, but from the pictures it looks a little homebrew-ish thing, so I could see this becoming unobtainium. Also, if they’re sourcing their drivers from Hifiman that becomes a liability if Hifiman decides to stop making or selling these drivers.
So I’m really enjoying these, but they’re just a touch too bright/thin, which is especially noticeable on progressive metal like Dream Theater. Trying to EQ the 4 KHz peak in the upper mids hasn’t worked very well for me, because it seems dull the headphones’ delightful energy. However, bringing up the lower mids has been quite pleasant so far. It’s just a very slight boost, but over a pretty wide range, and so far it seems to improve the tonality without hurting the technicalities.
holy moly that new FR is way better, that’s what i was hoping to achieve with simple pad swap but it’s obviously more than that. the pictures make it look like they are using focus A pads from hifiman instead of default
I’m on a Mac and use SoundSource to route my system audio through an effects chain. The screenshot I shared is just using Apple’s AUNBandEQ Audio Unit, which IIRC actually ships with MacOS (if not, it’s a free download somewhere).
I end up with an effects panel that looks like the below. I’ve got my global negative pregain in an AUNBandEQ plugin, Redline Monitor for speaker simulation and then various headphone-specific EQ profiles. Running the pre-gain in its own plugin lets me toggle the other stuff on and off without changing volume level, which helps me when I’m building my EQs.
The only thing I wish SoundSource did was let me name the various effects so that I could easily distinguish them.
Word. I requested this feature from Rogue Amoeba about a year ago for this very reason. My solution was to replace the multiple AUNBandEQ with a single DMG EQuick plugin and use it to switch headphone presets.
Yeah I feel like that always happens to headphones, change the pads and it kinda ruins the sound. Tried pad swapping a m50 before and it just sounded so bad.
I do EQ but was looking for an alternative. EQing makes it hard to switch between devices but it is what it is
