This new method didn’t yield anything I prefer over the Headphones.com EQ Repository preset for the Meze Empyrean II. Some of that could be the measurement I used, but it could also be because I have very different goals for the sound of my Empyrean II vs my Hifiman Mini Shangri-La.
In fact, even with my MSL I’m somewhat torn between what this method created and what I had before. The new preset is a bit more spacious and instruments are more distant. Normally this would be an easy win but instruments also sound less detailed. This makes sense though. You hear more detail from a guitar right next to your ear than one across the room.
