Slow Jazz

This is exactly the type of music that I am enjoying currently.

Only a couple songs on this one now, not unusual. Maybe Lonely Town… I am definitely over purchasing album/CD… For now Apple Music is well worth it for me at $99/yr … Amazing choices. I just wish they had a HI-Fi option. CD quality or higher is so good.

I haven’t heard Grover Washington for quite a while. I used to enjoy some of his tunes I heard. Thanks.

I mostly use Pandora for experiencing new music right now. Then I zero in on some artists I like for LPs or CDs. There is still something I love about getting into the same mood the artist and their producer intended on an album. Old school, but that’s me.

If I want to try out a new artist station, like your suggestion for Grover, I’ll start a station for them and then fine tune it with the thumbs up and down buttons. I can get it mostly where I want fairly soon.

Cheers mate!

In case anybody is still watching this thread- I found a great album in the center of what I was looking for in this topic. It’s Beegie Adair ‎– A Time For Love. Calm, melodic piano, slow tempo, bass, and brushed drums. Very soothing.

I was never a big Grover Washington fan. “Smooth jazz” took me too far away from the high performance standards of jazz (a purely personal reaction).

But I do like some of his late career stuff, particular his two cuts on a terrific funky organ jazz CD, “Essence All-Stars Organic Grooves.” That name says it all–can’t tell you how many times I played this great Grover W, Jr cut (on soprano) for parties:

If you are into fusion era stuff by Grover, you should try his very early CTI offering from the mid-70s and earlier… I think you may be surprised!

Happy Listening!
