Black was a game-changer. Red was even better. Cobalt is the best USB DAC by a mile.
As good as two popular (but unnamed) DACs I used to have on my desktop – for $449 and $600. I sold my Schiit stack.
Pairs well with Jitterbug. Surprising amount of juice; drives my HD-600’s just fine. Good enough for my Sundara’s. The DAC section is crazy-good.
This is the only user-friendly DAC that’s worth pairing with my iPhone. Just buy the Apple USB 3 connector.
AudioQuest takes a lot of heat from audiophiles – “snake oil” cables and all. But this product is astonishingly good.
