Hello!
So, I don’t think there’s a difference between our measurements that isn’t explained by unit variation, differences in insert depth, or the differences that different eartips may cause.
Resolve and I measured two separate units; his was one sent to him by Truthear, mine was a unit that was bought directly from Truthear at the SoCal CanJam floor. His measurement used the stock narrow bore tips, while mine used Acoustune AET07 tips. You can see that even with these differences, they align rather well below 3kHz (and above that, the tips as well as the insert depth play a large role in how the two will differ).
Additionally, here’s a comparison versus two Variations units measured using the B&K 5128/4620. You can see that the two units from Moondrop are actually less well-matched in the bass and midrange, while potentially being closer to each other than the two Nova units in the treble.
Now, the 711 measurement of the Nova + Variations are both two different units from the ones measured on the 5128, and I mentioned that my Variations unit in particular was a bit of a unicorn (a special unit) because it seemed to have significantly less of a midbass tuck and less emphasis in the 4-7kHz region than basically any Variations unit I’d seen prior. My measurement below, followed by another enthusiast’s measurement of different units of the same IEMs.
Hope that helps!
