This is a great breakdown of their sounds vs. the HD650! Thank you @ProfFalkin !
My next acquisition will be my Schiit Stack, then I need to start thinking about the Aeolus cans. I think at their price point though I really will need to audition them first as I believe all sales are final on the website. A lot of dough to spend without knowing for sure!!

They have a return policy for headphones, but there is a return fee unfortunately. There are no returns on ear pads though.

Actually they are not as much as I thought they were! Just went back to the site. What pads does everybody like the most with them? The regular or the universe suede? @TylersEclectic @ProfFalkin I see you have the universe suede. Man you guysā¦

If you ask Zack for those to be your second pair with the normal Aeolus leather pads, I bet heād do it. Alsoā¦ Ask about the suede headband for the full suede VIP experience.

I guess the question now isā¦ Camphor Burl or Sapele?
Or...
Or ziricote? Hah
Thereās been quite a few pics of the burl posted on HF. Very pretty. Sapele is harder. Things like decay, speed and transient attack are slightly affected by wood choice.

Theyāre actually very affected by the wood. That goes for all wood chambered headphones. I think a safe bet wood be using a more traditional ātoneā wood.
Aesthetically, I think the Camphor Burl looks the nicest of the Aeolus.

Looks like suede pads are an option on the Aeolus order page. Huh. Ok. There you go then.
@ValentineLuke Yep, and the harder the wood the better, imo. Sapele is a tone wood similar to mahogany.
