Hey, the Koss Portapros’s are very sweet sounding for the money, quite powerful sounding too.
Sadly I broke two pairs because the cables are just too easy to break.
Why do you need to use these with a portable amp? They are very easy to power, so there should
be little to no difference when pairing with an amp to your phone.

No need for a portable amp for the Koss Porta Pro, you are right they are very easy to drive.
I do suggest you look online for a pair of YAXI pads which are larger than the originals and slightly alter sound in a good way - the drivers are maybe a sixteenth inch further from your ears. Plus COLORS!

Maybe Volumio Preciso DAC combined with a great AMP Or an Ferrum WANDLA HP (DAC/AMP). Life ist not easy

I’ve got a couple of headphone setups:
Canever ZeroUno DAC/Headphone Amp. A great sounding DAC and headphone amp in one unit. Primarily use it for CD playback, TIDAL, and occasionally Foobar2000 with PGGB-RT.
For high resolution playback, have a Topping D900 DAC, connected to either a Bryston BHA-1, or a custom built OTL Tube amp. This rig handles the 705/768 KHz, along with DSD.
Headphones:
Very happy with this arrangement.

This DAC is worth a serious look:
I had the white Porta Pro and added red Yaxi pads, they looked amazing.
The Dekoni pads have a similar look and feel and, so far, have not faded, and held up much better than Yaxi pads. They are $19 bucks a pair.
I have always thought the Chord products are tops for their price category. Of course, there is always subjectivity involved. The fact that they can be used as desktop or portable devices is a bonus. The Hugo 2 has more than enough power to drive almost all headphones comfortably.

The V324 was the final piece of my new lineup, and the Head-Fi rack is now complete.
For me, this solution is practical and visually appealing.
From now on, I’ll probably add a few more headphones; the sound chain is high-quality and will most likely outlive me, so enjoy it, my heirs…

Plenty of gear went thru in and beyond your ears. which gives possibilty of creating some nice synergy guide/s. Have you ever thought about it ?
I did play with headphoes and desktop gear with all the classic like beyer, Sennheiser,Akg and gear from smsl,topping,aune.
Currently play mostly mojo 2 and iems and classic bio cal!se.
How better is the Cyan 2 over the mojo 2 perspective? in the context of the weakest point of mojo - soundstage width ? what about note weight, trebble briliance ? Have you heard other r2r dacs?
Is the solid state Cayin amp better then Aune S17 ?
Have youbwver tried to use of of those xduoo’s as preamp to cayin/aune ?
What abou digital signal ?
all those questions in the context of creating new headphone chain. starting with A6 Master( need to be eversolo for Apple music bitperfect and PEQ) than DAC( eversolo dac z8 or some R2R) and S17 or some other amp.
