I think it will definitely depend on the room, amplifier, and placement of the speaker in proximity to the back wall and whether you will need a subwoofer for the Heresy IV. I own them, and in my main room with heavy treatment, I felt they were better paired with my REL subs. However, in my more casual listening entertainment room, I only use a couple of small bass traps behind the speakers with closer proximity to the wall and the Marantz 40n for amplification. I boost the bass via the analog tone control on the amp, and they sound magnificent.
This is the number one reason I don’t own a cat, even though I love them.
