I’ve a great sounding Gustard U16 with a Gustard 10M external clock available. PM me if interested.
Thanks, but I’ve read that a many prefer the Gustard U12 over U16 and it can be ‘buggy’.
Sounds good. Yeah there are a lot of buggy U16s out there. Mine for some reason was/is 100% free of bugs. No clicks and pops while changing sample rates or issues playing some specific sample rates, etc etc. I’m using firmware v1.6 if I recall correctly.
On the sound performance, the U12 doesn’t hold a candle to U16, there’s simply no comparison there. I used to own both and immediately sold the U12. However, to my ears, the U12 is still better than the Singxer SU-1 and slightly better than the SU-6. The U16 is just another level. I got rid of usb audio in my system and that’s the only reason why I’m letting the U16 go.
PS Audio got out of cable business other than power cords. I suspect they were losing money on things like the Transcendent pure silver cables because IMO they were selling them too cheap for dual 18 AWG pure silver cables with triple shields.

The Neotech is a nice cable. Used to have cables made with similar wires. Do keep in mind, though, there are different sound characters depending on AWG used. Dual 18-AWG silver did go a long way to simulate the tonal density and weight of copper but not quite all the way.
If you decide to make DIY interconnects with the Neotech wire, don’t automatically order silver connectors. At least order some pure-copper based connectors and compare with other connectors on overall end balance. Those connectors that are pure silver and/or using very thin metal contacts will exacerbate issues with tonal weight and density, although they will accentuate speed, clarity.
Some decent transports, SimAudio 260D, Cambridge CXC and/or what I do I just use my old Bryston CD or my OPPO 105 via its AES or S/PDIF and let my dac(s) handle the dac duties.
A guy in Germany ugrades the CDT6000, it’s under hoer-wege Modifikation I’ll have mine done after the COVID mess. See his list of mods…then, I’m guessing that nothing at any price will come close.
@Tommaso_Turek interesting find - thanks for sharing. However after experimenting with upsampling cd transports it would be hard for me to switch to CDT6000, but it all comes down to personal preferences and setup. I’ve spent some time playing with PCM and DSD upsampling and dac filters settings to get the results that left me content.
