Thanks! The Liquid Platinum is a killer amp, and for the money hard to beat. The LP, is quite transparent, with forward and warm impactful mids, and great bass and smooth yet extended highs. Paired with the Gungnir Multibit, it is fun as heck, and I am left wanting nothing more. The mids are the star of the show, and have this awesome euphonic / holographic presentation, with great depth and height front to back. The LP/Gumby pairing doesn’t necessarily have the widest stage, but is just right for my taste. Overall, it has a very fun and immersive sound. The tubes I am using, are Amperex Bugle Boy ECC88 D Getters made in Holland from 58’, and sound awesome in the LP.

Nice. I’m not ready to add a tube amp yet, but it’s one that I’ll consider. :+1:t4:

Thanks!

Nice setup!

I forgot to reply back to you. I leave my amps at a fixed volume, usually 40-50% and use RME to control volume as a pre-amp.

I got the Asgard 3 coming monday to try out. Returned the SMSL SP200 because the slanted look really bothered my organization ocd.

Thank you Anthony,

hope the flood situation around your neighboorhoods calmed down

I did the exact same before with the SU-8 and the RME out of conveniance. I switched now to let the RME ADI 2 DAC beeing fixed in line out.
Got me this mdf board and put it on the sideboard. So I have the stack in easy reach distance from my listening position on the sofa.
In the meantime I bought a bamboo wood board(which matches with our other table in the room and the SMSL SU-8 is gone

My OCD got me so far, I want to build a wooden box for the stack, that I can close at the front with a panel and in the back with some fabric
So it’s dustproof and doghairs free

when do you get the Asgard 3?
Is it’s width identical to the RME’s? :flushed:

you have a very supportive wife. haha

I get the Asgard 3 tomorrow. It should be very similar in size. I bought a silver one though, so it’ll contrast with the RME. They do come in a black color.

I was browsing the internet, and this photo caught my attention a few months ago and got my head swirling…

It’s a Joutenheim + RME.

That’s an interesting contrasts … RME ADI-2 DAC fs vs. a Holo Audio Spring DAC being driven in DSD mode (a waste of that DAC, and largely rendering it’s unique ladder/compensation scheme pointless, in my opinion).

Yeah, I was going to say exactly the same thing.

Ok, no I wasn’t. Kinda close to it, only vulgar.

Hi guys! I’m new to this forum, but I’ve been upgrading my headphone system several times over the last year. Now, I’m running the Chord Qutest DAC to the Cayin HA-300 300b tube amp to the Audeze LCD-3 Fazor.

Cable wise, I have the Morrow Audio Reference USB cable to the Qutest, Morrow Audio MA4 RCA interconnects with Pure Harmony ends to the HA-300, Morrow Audio MAP3 power cable to the HA-300, and Periapt SE cable to the LCD-3

It sounds marvelous! And now I’m looking to roll some tubes already. Probably the Sylvania 6SN7GT/VT-231 3-hole Bad Boy or Tung Sol 6SN7GT Black Glass Round Plate for the driver tubes up front and the Psvane ACME Supreme 300b for the power tubes in the back.

What do you guys think about those tubes?

What a beautiful setup. If it were mine I’d be slow to make changes from there and get to know it in great depth, sweetly and intimately.
