@TylersEclectic I mentioned a few new additions to the chain (QS + HD800s)

@jb77 they mentioned tonight you owned a quicksilver as well… Just got mine the prior owner upgraded the caps and provided a few extra tubes. I might pick your brain on HP pairings and tubes that you preferred.

I’m a big fan of the Quicksilver. I’ve had it for over a year, and it has been a great match with all the headphones I’ve tried with it. I’ve mainly used it with various ZMFs (Aeolus, Auteur, and Verite Closed). I just got a Meze Elite, and the Quicksilver has no problem making these low impedance planars sound phenomenal.

I’ve rolled a lot of tubes while I’ve had the amp as well. Let me know if you have any questions. I am about to get some super-fancy 1954 Amperex long plate 12AX7s in a day or two that I’m really excited to try. I’ve been using the cheaper and more readily-available short plate Amperex tubes from the 1960s with great success, so I can’t wait to see what these older versions can do!

I’ve seen quite a few cap-modded Quicksilvers for sale of late. I wonder if people are regretting the mods. I am not planning on doing any mods myself while I’m under warranty. Then again, this amp sounds so good in stock form with nice tubes rolled in that I may never change anything for fear of messing with a good thing.

A very classic, wonderfully arranged setup.

Congratulations!

What speaker system are you using with this arrangement?

Thank you!

Right now it’s 95% headphone - ZMF Atrium in natural cherry.

I do have a line out going to NAD C 700 that is feeding a pair of KEF LS50 Metas with the matching KEF KC62 subwoofer. Here’s a fisheye view of my entire room for reference.

I’m going to add a pair of Declare Tiny Radials (in cherry) with compact sub just for the fun of it in the near future.

Wow, that’s beautiful, what an elegant setup!

If it weren’t for the headphones and stand, I’d say I was having a 70’s flashback!

Thanks - sure feels like it.

Man, does that look good. Everything works with everything else.

Great example of someone’s design aesthetic in action.

I love that headphone stand! From where can one obtain it?

What @eric75 said - Grumpy Goose cherry stand.

He sells on Etsy and they go very quickly.

Also look at these photos. I have no experience, but the seller posts on this site.

I’m the first buyer for these stands and can vouch for their quality. Every bit as good as the Grumpy Goose stands. Gotta love all the custom wood designers out there making headphone equipment

@TylersEclectic

I had to drop off your live stream early last night… I heard you had both the Atrium and Quicksilver on hand… Curious do you enjoy the QS amp? Does is pair well with the Atrium and VC?

Loving mine with the HD800s in particular but more of my hps due pair well with it.

I find the quicksilver to be very good! I’d say a big step up from the Hagerman Tuba… but, not as good as the unobtanium ECP T4 :smiling_face_with_tear: hopefully they can start making more one day of the T4.

Thanks for jumping on!

Cheers!
