Dunu Mirai In-Ear Monitor Headphones - Official Discussion Thread

I couldn’t be happier with my Mirais! I snagged a pair a few days ago and they’ve completely blown me away. Compared to my MMK2s, the Mirais are in a whole different league. The fit and sound separation are miles ahead, and that green color is just killer. Seriously, not sure what the other person was talking about – these headphones are top-notch in my book.

Don’t know how/where you “sold” them, but at least on the headphone-centric forums I frequent, you take payment before shipping the items.

This is because buyer-protection for services like PayPal is so strong.

Agreed. I have absolutely no opinion on Mirai, but if the poster sent out his IEMs before receiving payment I would view everything else he says with a heaping helping of skepticism.

I sent them Bach to headphones.com

Your return was delivered to our warehouse December 26th (yesterday). Once again I am unsure why you are making weird, hyperbolic statements with accusatory undertones that have no merit.

im assuming, 15% restocking fee(-$164), you probably got the dragonfly cobal for free (-$200), and then the shipping fee (2nd day air -$67). it adds up. But then again its clearly stated in their return policy.

DIDN’T get anything for free

Well I guess because I am mad about the low quality of the $1100 iems and the fact that I lost at least $429+ on them!!!

How on Earth did you lose $429+ on them?

Restocking is 10% base, +5% for IEMs - so $165.

Shipping is free on items over $100, so unless you paid to upgrade that, there was no cost there.

So unless you screwed up your return and didn’t drop off the package with the courier in the 7-day window after having your return label generated, or there’s something you’re leaving out here, that makes no sense.

return bad

Well, there must be something being left out here.

The base re-stocking fee is 10%, then an additional 5% for IEMs.

To get to a ~40% restocking fee, as shown, you’d have to be returning something dirty, or be on your third return in the last 365 days, or some other issue (or combination of issues) is at work that falls outside the published return fees.

Curious to know what, exactly, as that large of a delta between what I’d expect, and what you’re saying, would be a good way past an unwelcome surprise.

Good to see they arrived safe and sound and you’re enjoying them! Excited to hear your thoughts once you’d had more time to spend with them.

How’s the fit for you? How’s the fit for you? That’s probably the biggest 50/50 split we’ve seen for feedback so far.

The fit is great! Soundwise, in comparison to my Sony IER-M9, it has better overall treble, with no unnatural treble spike around 10 - 12k. I also enjoy it’s more neutral bass and mids. This is now the crown jewel of my collection. Kudos to Precog and the Headphones.com team!

I tried the various included tips and my usual foam tips, and found that the best ones for me are the S&S tips

On more listening, looks like my moondrop foam tips help tame the spiciness better

Have you tried the Divinus Velvet tips? I find those to be the best tips at taming treble spice.

Thanks for the tip! My Divinus Velvets just arrived, and I must say they are super comfortable! They also smooth out the spiciness to a similar degree as the foam tips!

Great to hear! The Divinus Velvet tips aren’t my favorite cause I think they sometimes smooth out the treble too much and flatten some midrange dynamics BUT I do think they’re a set of tips everyone who likes to tip-roll should have around. Very comfortable and versatile for any treble-related problems.
