Headphones.com EQ Repository & Request Thread

a pre 2021 lcd-xc eq profile would be good aswell!

An eq for the mixxing pads would be nice

Hi folks, do we have the EQ curves for DCA Stealth? I was not able to locate them - not sure if I am just terrible at using the search function. I remember seeing a list of all of the EQs in the YT video but was not able to locate it here. Thanks!

Hi!, I would love to see an EQ profile for the Fiio FD15, Thanks

No offense meant, but @listener are you still doing this? Because I found this thread to be invaluable as a starting point with many headphones in my collection. But I have also added a few new ones over the last year that are not here.

I’m really interested in seeing the measurements for the SJY Horizon Closed Carbon, so second this!

Hi, any chance for a present for the Audio Technica AP2000Ti? Cheers.

There is a program that provides good EQ values for a whole host of headphones. AutoEQ provides convolution EQ settings which are easily copied and available to employ in PGGB-RT. I’ve had good success with the settings provided. All my Sennheiser headphones are supported. I also discovered that the EQ settings for the Ultrasone Edition 8 work equally well for the Edition 15 Veritas. The two headphones sound quite similar. I was floored to hear just how much better the Edition 15 Veritas sounded with EQ applied. It’s made me a EQ convert.

autoEQ EQ’s to a target based on the hrtf of a SINGLE rig, which is certainly different than your HRTF, the reason this repository is and was useful was because listener usually EQ’d based on an average of multiple measurement rigs, which presumibally would be closer to the average of how it would sound on ear to most people or an average, it is far from perfect but that is what manual EQ is for.

I find AutoEq “close enough for government work”, at least with my stable of headphones. I use it for the Sennheiser 600, 650, 660S2, and the 490 Pro. I have one closed back that I use it for (Ultrasone Edition 8 EX). They all seem to improve the balance using PGGB-RT.

This is something great, thank you! @listener

Have tried to use the github.io tool you created. As a newbie, but guess some others might benefit as well, a few questions regarding that tool:

  1. Are there any kind of tutorial/basic on youtube or text written about the tool? some points on how to use it and what to think about when using this for trying EQ

  2. In the upper right corner of the tool, I can choose “Headphones”, “5128” , “EQ Playground”. Which of these should I preferably be/work in when trying to create EQ filters?
What are the differences between them?

  3. Looked at the graphs you have posted, i.e. HD650, you write: “Uses data from GRAS KB50xx, B&K 5128, B&K 4128, and HeadAcoustics HMSii.3“ . Will all that available data be automatically included?
For HD650 there are several measurements, “Black Silk”, Black Paper”, “Silver Screen“, etc. but also with names like “Dilupus”, “Fuku”, “Humble”. Are these different headphones tested by different people? Sorry not sure how to interpret that.

  4. You produced 10 EQ filters for HD650, should I get the same filter values as you presented, when running AutoEQ in your tool? or did you manually do this?

In general would also be interesting to hear the reasoning of the choice of up to 10 filters. I thought using maybe 3-6 filters could be an advantage, than trying to match a made up target precisely.

Keep it up! Sorry for beginner questions.

Hi @listener ,

Any chance for Modhouse Tungsten V2 DS Hybrid and Perf pads? I’d really appreciate any help with that :person_bowing:

HFM Edition XV would be really interesting to see EQ for

And also, I’d really appreciate LCD-2C(Classic) and LCD-GX :folded_hands:

Good day!

@listener could we get Audeze MM-100? I’ve played with Oratory1990 settings, would very much like to try this averaging approach for EQ…

Looking to obtain EQ files for the Verum 2. It sounds very good without EQ, but curious to find out if EQ can further improve the sound.

Requesting:

Google Pixel Buds Pro 2

Thank you!

Hello !

I would love to see an EQ version for Hifiman Edition XV

Greetings! I really like the Audeze Reveal EQ profiles and got really pissed as Audeze hasn’t bothered to release a Linux version of the plugin, so I’ve taken the liberty of releasing the FIR filters and a set of optimal EQ settings derived from them.

What does this mean?

You can now replicate the plugin’s exact EQ effects natively on Linux (or any other platform) and use the filters in your preferred DSP applications.

What are FIR Filters?

In short, FIR (Finite Impulse Response) filters allow for extremely precise frequency corrections. Unlike standard “Equalizer” sliders (IIR filters) that can sometimes shift the phase or timing of your audio, FIR filters can be designed to be linear phase.

This means they can fix the frequency response of your headphones (like making the bass tighter or the mids clearer) without “smearing” the sound or messing with the imaging. It’s the “high-fidelity” way to do EQ.

How to use them

You can load these filters into a Convolver (a program that applies the filter to your audio stream).

On Linux: EasyEffects (for PipeWire) or PulseEffects. Simply add the “Convolver” plugin and import the WAV file for your headphone model.

On Windows: The most common tool is EqualizerAPO. Install EqualizerAPO, open the Configuration Editor, add a “Convolution” filter (under the “Plugins” or “Advanced” menu), select the specific FIR WAV file for your Audeze model.

Hi, I recently got the Airpods Max (USBC version, not sure if that matters compared to the original). I have been using them with USB Audio Player Pro, with Toneboosters MorphIt Mobile plugin. I currently have the target headphones target set to “Generic Hifi Target Curve”, which they say is a “simulation of a loudspeaker in a consumer environment. I have this target curve application set to 50%, because I don’t like how it sounds 100%. Unfortunately, I can only use this plugin with UAPP, so I wanted to ask if it is possible for you to know what the Generic Hifi Target Curve they’re using is, and in turn make a EQ profile that mimics what I have with MorhpIt so I can use this EQ sound with my main music player app (poweramp). I know this is an odd request, so I’m not expecting this to be possible. Thank you!
