I saw this at CanJam NYC. Wished I took some time to listen to it. I’m gonna see if I can find someone to let me hear it.
I had one here… I feel I need to make a thread for it if I haven’t already. It’s not for me personally because of its tuning, there are some notable treble quirks. But it looks nice.
In that case, I’ll mention that I am still waiting for a Hifiman Mini Shangri-La review. ![]()
How about the SJY Horizon Closed Carbon? From what others are saying, I’m getting something like Modhouse Tungsten vibes - made by a small, independent operation; punching way above its price; competent tuning that rivals some of the really big players in the space. It looks extremely interesting, but I would love to see if the Headphone Show crew can punch any holes in the hype…

Flathead earbuds are having a moment. I’d like to suggest a review of an affordable, extremely well tuned model from a boutique called Flathead Audio. The model I have in hand is the PEAR, which has been crafted from pear wood. I think headphone and IEM enthusiasts will find it pleasantly surprising, not just in terms of its wonderful sound, but also its comfort.
Would love to get a review on the new Hifiman HE600, successor to HE6
I have both and I’m going to start this out by staring i am NOT an audiophile.
The t71 and the 5k both use the same android app Don’t think they have IOS yet. Both have 20 band EQ capability though it looks like they implemented it a little differently on the T71 having a 10 band user and a 10 band device eq. I like the concept as I can define a general eq for my aging ears that will always be applied and a device specific eq depending on what IEMs or headphones I am using. Both devices share the huge EQ presets library.
Be advised that Qudelix seems to have devoted lot of the circuitry to the support of 7.1 surround sound for their proprietary IEMs. Apparantly it will also do some magic with a 7.1 sognal with 2 channel headphones but i havent texted that yet.
The device is a lot bigger and heavier than the 5K though still definitely portable. It also will support sample rates above 192k while the 5K I believe maxes out at 96K.
Both sound great with IEMs. Tested with Etymotic ER4XRs and 7hz Timeless. Both amps seem to have a bit more oomph running a balanced connection but the single-ended is fine. The t71 might have a bit more power but both drive my IEMs well.
For my use case, streaming flac files through Plexamp into iems while flying or exercising, the 5K fits the bill. If i was a gamer or had a lot of 7.1 content I would go with the lT71.
Putting the T71 on eBay.
I am using the 5k with iOS. I would assume the T71 uses the same iOS app since it uses the same Android app. If you are on the latest firmware, the 5k also splits the EQ into 10 band device/“SPK” and 10 band user.
Kali Audio HP-1: Kali Audio’s take on the studio headphone, with a twist. In addition to Bluetooth and active noise cancelling, Kali put presets to simulate how a mix would translate to overly bass-boosted consumer headphones. The default ‘studio’ preset does look Harman-like per Kali’s published frequency response graphs.
I don’t think it’d be too difficult to get one, since Erin’s Audio Corner regularly gets review samples from Kali.

It’s a 40-110$ Closed back that i’m quite interested in seeing you guys review.
it measures terrifyingly well on the Gras
Headphone burn in? Resolve just commented on an old post about it….. appears to be easily and scientifically tested and proven or disproven. Though I don’t understand the science behind headphone testing, maybe there is to much left up to variance in test runs. But in my mind…. Open new headphones, test with zero time, burn in without touching and test at time intervals?
I’d love to see reviews about the new Bose QC Ultra gen 2 headphones.
Symphonium Europa? Currently my favorite set..
Also curious on your guys’ thoughts on the Harman 2025 MoA.
That’s not a yes or no. Some headphones change with burn in and some don’t. I was skeptical about burn in until I bought my Nectar Hive. Profound difference after about 40 hours of play.
