I didnt get a pad, for me its not necessary…my fit is really nice for me, no hot spot etc or real discomfort.
Several folks have asked about this though and now there is a guy selling a $34.95 leather suspension ban “kit” on ebay to add a suspension strap similar to what Audeze is doing.

ahh… whats different between the bifrost 2 vs the rme adi2dac on the heddphone through the phonitor x?

They are very close but, I think the Bifrost2 has better detail and stage…depth and imaging are also slightly better.

I can’t win this and I’m still going to be there with bells on. Dr. Frederik Knop is a fascinating person, and everytime I hear him talk or Klaus Heinz talk it makes me want to buy things from them.
I’m not sure how, but there is a set of tower mains in my future at some point.

I’ve had mine for about a week now, and these things sound incredible but damn it if they aren’t so heavy as to be fatiguing after an hour of listening, tops. What I want is the sound of the HEDDphone in a headphone body that disappears from my head.
Question for you fine folks - lots of people talk about how the HEDDphone is super fast, and I’ve seen numerous reviewers compare them to electrostats in that regard. What are some good test tracks that I can listen to in order to demonstrate this speed? What should I be listening for and hearing in making this determination?

finally after 2 weeks of wait. seriously pictures dont do the red on the amp justice… checking in to confirm what’s been said about the synergy between the phonitors and the heddphone, and its a resounding YES. omg the sound separations alone compared to my previous thx789 LOL

Oh god… Sirens! I hear them calling “TOOOBS” lol. And yes tubes are the next step… After my wallet recovers from its refractory period from a phonitor and an LCD XC sirens…
The phonitor pushes details even at low volumes so it allowed me to really enjoy my music whilst gaming with the heddphone properly. Before on the 789 I thought I was hearing ample details in the background while the gaming sound was blasting but now with the phonitor, its even more details that I can easily refocus my attention between the game and the music… so awesome
I placed both the 1st and 2nd jumper at the ON position for the +24db gain (with +19dbgain and -4.5db volume on the rme) and the volume through the heddphone is very loud even at 10 o’clock that I think +22db with just the first jumper is sufficient for the hedds.

I agree… I did the +24 and it was a lil much… I also was lazy and didn’t switch the switches back to switch normal… and was using my other headphones and was having a heck of a time lol finally switched back to stock settings and really digging on it =)

Yes just the thought of having to flip it on its back to flip those switches puts me off of doing it lol. Im starting to think there’s a secret german formula here with german made audio products because I just tried the phonitor with my 660s and it sounded soo good… need to get more german brands…
