Hey, throwing this out there for anyone who owns an iBasso player. I just got a DX 240 which I am enjoying a lot so far. What’s the trick with the Micro SD card? I can’t get it to “stick” in the slot. I have to hold it in with my a finger, which is obviously not gonna work … I slid the leather case over it, which doesn’t fully hold the card in the slot. Am I missing something? Thanks any DX users who can suggest something.
I have a question…the shorty coax cable that iBasso includes (specifically the one with the DX 150, but I think the cable is common to most of the iBasso DAPS) is too short for my needs. Is there anyplace that sells a longer (3 foot plus) such cable? RCA coax to what looks like a mini toslink but isn’t optical.
Thanks!
Bumping this … Could really use some advice. Thanks!
I am not too sure about that.
Have you tried by any chance contacting iBasso (Paul) and asking if they can make a custom one for you?
iBasso has one of the best customer services on the market, and they are not new to meeting special requests
Quick question if I may. I am looking for a DAP that can handle up to 100,000 songs. I may be odd (aren’t we all in some way?) but I listen to cds when i can (home or car) and my DAP when on the move. I like to carry all my music with me and use it on shuffle when on the go as it is like having my own personal radio station without the talking and knowing I am going to like everything that comes up. It often leads to me getting home and digging out a cd I haven’t listened to for ages because a song came up that reminded me of it. I have tried the Fiio x5iii and it is flakey in its operation - slow and glitchy. I have tired the AK SR15 which is a thing of beauty but hopeless at managing the song count. It copes fine up to around 40,000 then falls away. I have put Foobar 2000 on and that works a bit better but slowly. The DX240 says it can cope with a micro-sd up to 2tb. My current music count is 80,000 songs and 550GB. Will the DX240 actually operate smoothly with this number of tracks (it seems to be the track count rather than memory size which is the problem on the Fiio and AK. Any thoughts welcome.
Wow! I am fascinated by your dedication to music. It’s a really heartwarming story.
In terms of the question, I am the last person you should ask this because I am yet to build my music library. While I know exactly which music I’d like to the library, I simply never “find” the time — even though I know that’s not true — and never get to it.
This question is something that I strongly advice you to ask the manufacturer directly or @Whitigir on Head-Fi, or you can post your question in one of the iBasso threads. The DX300 thread has a lot of traction and you will probably get the answer if you post your question there.
My DX300 and DX300 MAX have always operated very smoothly, but I never had such an enormous library.
So I am now roadtesting an IBasso DX240 which is working really well except in one respect and that is the Bluetooth connection. I have tried it with a Sony Soundbar, Bowers and Wilkins headphones and Sony in ear phones and the same issue crops up with all - and it is a dangerous one.
When I switch the bluetooth device on and press play on the DAP, the volume is deafening until I twiddle the volume knob slightly at which point it drops to normal. It happens every time I reconnect the bluetooth device to the player but wjhile it remains connected I can pause and play as often as I want and it doesn’t happen - the volume level remains normal.
Anyone have any ideas?
I know this is a DX300 thread, but I have the DX 240 and was looking for some advice on 2 issues:
- How does one lock all the buttons on the DAP after playing a track and before pocketing the DX240?
- How does one set the settings for Play Mode to play continuosly through all folders on the DAP? I seem to have tried all but in vain
Thank you
Welcome to the forum!!!
Don’t know if you looked through this already but here’s the owners manual….
https://manuals.plus/m/2ea320e5868a5ad230dbce961a57167fb0c57a175c581794e293cd3b4fb0aa44_optim.pdf
Folder play instructions are on page 40
Didn’t see anything about button lock but I just scanned through quickly. Long press of the play button locks the screen. Does that also lock the buttons?…I don’t have one so I don’t know, maybe that does it?
Hope this helps.
Thank you Audiophool for having me here.
Though I had read the manual, close perusal as suggested at page 40 has solved my second issue. The music will play through the folders only if the music play is initiated in the directory. Thank you
As regards the first issue of locking the buttons of the DAP, it’s not happening with long press of the play button.
Just bought a used DX300. Does anyone know if there’s a way to (temporarily) disable the volume knob? I want to be able to put the screen to sleep, put the DAP in my pocket and listen to music while I go for a walk, but if I do, I can’t go two steps before that volume knob is playing absolute havoc in my pocket–waking up the screen, then changing songs, volume, etc. I tried disabling the audio control buttons and enabling a screen lock PIN, but you can still change tracks and volume even with the screen locked so that wasn’t much help. Right now the device is pretty useless to me. I mean I can set it on my desk and just try to avoid touching it unintentionally I guess, but it seems like there must be a better way.
While back I said I wants a DAP under 2k, so that disqualified A&K. Did some research combined with comments from some of you people and now I’ve narrowed my options down to the kann alpha and the dx300. With one I get Android Which would be nice and on the other I get a more pure music experience which I can appreciate. Which one would you get? Both pretty much the same price, so it’s down to the sound and looks for me.
Given that there have only been 31 posts (excepting yours), in 2+ years, in this thread, and that more than half of those are between the same three people, it would seem the DX300 just isn’t that popular here.
More an issue with interest in a specific device rather than the forum …
