Well, there’s ALWAYS that!

But in this case, “Hugo M-Scaler”

I thought I’d was a joke because it was so massive in comparison!:man_facepalming:t4:

A few of you guessed correctly, and here it is … fresh out of the box … (proper thread coming in a bit) …

I have about 30 minutes on it so far … and, well … DAMN …

Hahahaha I smell another $3.5k (I meant $3.9k, even worse Lol) being drained down the rabbit hole… the pursuit of the perfect sound is a never ending quest! Looking forward to your informative report.

I saw the list price as $3,900.

The black, red and silver… just looks like its pulsating. ready to blow someones ears off.

I dont think I would want to hear that for fear of never being acoustically happy again.

I wonder what it is that drives the price that high, apart from the TOTL price setting. It looks like high-end quality for sure, but $3900… I can get the Cayin HA300 amp here in Denmark for $4400

R&D, sourcing parts, any custom parts, also it’s targeted at professional audio engineers so that ramps the price up…

Also healthy profit margin to make it worth making and selling…

But, that’s me just guessing…

Forgetting about performance, for a moment … like any product, the final price is dependent on many things - including simply what the market will bear. And when you’re addressing a relatively small market, per-unit costs inevitably go up simply due to having to amortize any R&D/production costs over a smaller number of units sold.

Sure, you can get the HA300 for about the same price (it is the same price, in the US). It’s a lovely amp. It’s also completely useless if you want to drive the SR1a.

They are down in the cabin, no need to take a chance with them on deck!

Probably IEMs… most likely wireless.

Oh, when my wife is lounging around on the boat like that, the very last thing I’m thinking about is headphones. And the lounging tends to become something else fairly quickly …

Boggle? Is it boggle?

Clearly both “boating” and “sailing” are VERY different endeavors down-under …

I don’t know why but, I can’t stop thinking of Wedding Crashers qoute “You motor-boating son of a b!tch!” lol

“Boating” refers to how 99% of Australians use the boat. We throw in fishing rods, crab pots, not enough bait, 1 hat, 4 dudes, a small sunscreen and 185 cans of beer.

“Sailing” refers to the 1% who live in Melbourne’s inner suburbs, and travel down to their coast house on weekends to go Sailing.

Whats it mean up there?

Same thing, minus the crab pots.

If you’re lucky, a female other than your best friend’s sister goes too.
