What model are you having issues with?:
Ipad pro 2019
Matrix -xsabre pro dac mqa
Describe your issue with the most detail you can:
Output from ipad won’t go beyond 44.1 khz / 24 bit regardless of the sample rate in Tidal that you set it to.
How long ago was it purchased?:
Matrix is a recent purchase
Check in Tidal app that Matrix is recognised as output and set it to “exclusive mode” in the app.
In that way you would probably solve the issue you described.
Thank you, I’ll give that a try tonight.
Never mind, every time.
You lost me on that one. “Never mind, every time”?
I don’t and will never run Tidal, I already have enough streaming services, SoundCloud and Bandcamp being my favorite. I also do Apple Music, Youtube Music, and Amazon HD music. Amazon HD uses FLAC, and Opus for it’s HiRez music.
My iPhone 12Pro Max is capable of 24bit 48kHz, Amazon uses Opus at 24bit 44.1, and FLAC 24bit 48kHz. My XS Max will do the same.
Bandcamp’s music is available in MP3, MP4, FLAC, and ALAC, CD, even LP’s records. Soundcloud just does streaming but it has a big library of mess with your mind binaural music
I’ve been on itunes forever. I wanted to see what higher definition music was which is why I tried Tidal, plus they offer military discount. I have Qobuz installed also. I got a response from Tidal and they said it should have been resolved with the last update. Last night it was working as intended, no changes but I did not find “exclusive mode” and not sure it’s needed more. Both Tidal and Qobuz were playing high definition with no issues.
Mac allows exclusive mode and you can choose the source. iPad and iPhone you can not. Got a Mac air on Friday, much better playback with the Mac versus the iPad or iPhone. Pretty happy with it so far.
