I have these (Studio 570 same but smaller woofers) in the living room. Each is set on an Monoprice 12in 150-Watt powered subwoofer set at lowest crossover setting and dual purposed as speaker stands to get each JBL tweeter closer to mid screen height. Performance is decent enough for family movie watching that we forget about the speakers. I have each one passively bi-amped to get the most power out of inexpensive Lepai tripath amplifiers connected to each. I just run the built in preamp and dac built into the Vizio TV and performance actually surprised me. I had incorrectly assumed that integrated tv components would be the weak link. Anyhow, a preferable setup over those cheap soundbars.
