No difference. Cables don’t make any differences to the sound 99% of the time. The exceptions are to do with ultra low impedance headphones, which this is not.

Thanks for the quick response! Just to clarify, I’m not talking about changing to a higher quality cable. The original cables that come with the 99 Classic V2 are unbalanced. I have three different DAC’s that have true balanced (4.4mm) outputs. So if I changed to balanced cables and used the balanced outputs on my DACs, would you not expect better sound quality than with unbalanced cables plugged into unbalanced outputs - and/or more volume at a given volume setting?
I don’t expect there to be any difference worth caring about going from SE to balanced. Amps and DACs typically don’t make much if any difference, apart from high output impedance or going to tube amps that have intentional harmonic distortion profiles. I think there may be some confusion around balanced vs SE due to certain situations where there’s a difference in OI between the two outputs, that could have a genuine effect on the sound, but it’s not to do with it being balanced, it’s to do with output impedance, or the amp functioning more ‘correctly’ on one of the outputs.
My advice, if you want to meaningfully improve the sound quality, give EQ a shot.

Great input. I’m now using Wavelet and am getting great results so far.
Good that you’re getting good results but uh… I’d just caution you about putting faith in the specific values you use on wavelet since the adjustments may not correspond perfectly to the specified values. I can’t confirm this but apparently wavelet has some issues.
