Do anyone use their Ether 2 with a RME ADI-2 DAC FS? I could use some advice for EQ since Oratory lacks presets for this model.
Oratory actually does have an EQ profile for the E2! See here - Dropbox - Dan Clark Audio Ether 2.pdf - Simplify your life
I actually meant the EQ specifically made for the RME, but I guess I could play around with the «general» values as well
Good afternoon from Spain
I have that same setup: RME ADI2 DAC and Dan Clark Audio Ether 2. I have used the DAC’s parametric EQ for some time. To have only five frequencies of actuation is very very good and precise. In addition to being able to save a lot of configurations in the internal memories. But I’ve been using APO Equalizer for quite some time. I always play FLAC and DSD files from my PC. I have the listening room treated acoustically, and I generate the EQ filters directly from REW. It gives me more possibilities, it is faster and more direct like that. I have an equalizer memory for the studio monitors and one for each headphone.
I hope it helps you (English is not my native language, this is a Google Translate translation. Sorry for mistakes)
Hi, your English is perfectly understandable. Maybe you could share your settings from the RME?
I think my RME’s equalizer has been flat for a long time. And if there is any filter in memory it will be from the Sennheisser HD700 that I used before. The Ether 2 I have very recently, I did not get to equalize them from the equalizer of the RME.
There is a young man who was also putting different filter curves on his website to equalize headphones. I think he was Nordic (Finnish maybe) I can’t remember his name or his website. The fact is that this young man put some more extensive filters for PC equalizers and, later, he included a version with only five filters for the RME ADI2-DAC. I think I remember I was on Reddit … I don’t know
I’ll try to find it …
I managed to find it. Here you have it, it is a very ambitious and serious project … GitHub - jaakkopasanen/AutoEq: Automatic headphone equalization from frequency responses
Even easier, directly to the DCA Ether 2 folder
Thank you, much appreciated!
If you open (for example) the Parametric EQ folder. You have a text file with the filter values for each frequency. And he emphasizes to you in a note that the first five values can be used independently. Those are the ones you can use for our appreciated RME ADI2-DAC.
I hope it serves you and you enjoy it!
