Music and drink pairings

Total Wines is my favorite big box liquor store (California). They dwarf bevmo. Trader Joes doesn’t carry the very best stuff, but it is certainly quite serviceable.

I’ve often fantasized about what a Costco shot of Tequila would be like.

They have this thing about economy size.

Here in PA, we’ve just started to get beer and wine in supermarkets. I know that some states, even here have liquor in convenience stores. PA has very odd rules, that are in a bit of flux.

California has booze wide spread at all sorts of stores, microbrew locations, and you name it. Not to mention “green cross” pot stores in multiple locations.

I miss California, looking forward to being back for the weekend! We arrive tomorrow! Too bad the weather is looking like Seattle weather :triumph:

I did a couple of pours of sipping rum and mmm… forgot how good quality rum is. Just a rock and an ounce or two of quality rum and some quality audio chains and yeah buddy! I’ll post up some pics of a couple of my sipping rums I’m currently enjoying.

Holy huge-smegging-image …

That’s not a good thing, by the way … if zooming in on a 12 megapixel image doesn’t yield useful/interesting details, then downsize it before posting it.

99.9% of the time a 1024 pixel wide image is all that’s warranted.

sorry you had to look at it

didn’t bust out the sizing techniques for the water photograph

You don’t need professional gear/techniques to resize an image.

Pointlessly large pictures slow down the forum for everyone.

If it’s not worth taking the time (30 seconds or less) to size appropriately, it sure isn’t worth posting.

I edited it cause professional was not the right word as you were replying, oops. It was uploaded via my phone, which I was not even aware took pictures that high resolution. I legitimately try to not post low effort content but at the time, I saw this thread as more casual in nature.

Anyways, not trying to assume your internet speed or whatever device you use, but how does this image slow the forum down that much? Pardon me if that’s inconsiderate.

But all that aside, it’s just an image. I just tried to make a joke (whether it’s funny or not, well, that’s subjective. Also it probably isn’t.) I understand that you’re a moderator, founding member, whatever you may call it, and you probably won’t budge on the issue but I didn’t mean for the image to strike a chord so much.

I promise this isn’t meant to be sarcastic.

The more casual the picture, the less rationale there is for it to be high resolution.

Bigger images consume more space and bandwidth, both of which are cost-commodities (i.e. metered … maybe not for you, but certainly for the forum and others).

You don’t have to understand it. You do have to observe it.

I don’t want to see the forum arbitrarily limited on file/image size, just because a few posters want to toss out needlessly large files, and thereby inhibit the posting of high-resolution images where they are useful (e.g. zooming in shows important or interesting details).

Resizing takes seconds. It’s easy. It’s built-in functionality in every platform I’m aware of from at least the last four years. It’s considerate of the forum, hosting and other users.

It looks like you might be using a pixel phone… I use Camera Zoom FX to post potato quality pictures, and cell phone pics, if I don’t have time for editing camera pics. In the settings you can set image size to anything you want really, many options available.

For example my current collection of sipping rums in potato quality

You guessed it, nice.

Legitimately good answer, thank you for telling me the reason instead of being needlessly passive aggressive about it like a lot of internet folks.

I see all the edits … just so you know.

Not sure where you’re getting passive/aggressive. Sarcasm, maybe. Intended as a gentle nudge in the appropriate pro-community direction.

If you want to read that differently, that’s on you.

But to be a member of this community means putting the community first. You don’t need to say anymore. Just don’t post huge images that don’t need to be huge.

I edited because I don’t want to come off as rude, that’s all. Not trying to twist my words or your replies around.

I meant passive aggressiveness as in what I see frequently in other communities.

Photoshop Express is free on Android as well and produces much better pictures and after editing you can resize and save to galkery, and set picture quality percentage, I tend to just leave at the default 85%
