I’ve been enjoying this album quite a bit lately - satisfies my metal needs. The vocalist they used for the album is amongst the best I’ve heard - possibly my new favorite.

Michael is the lead guitarist for progressive metal band Symphony X, and his two newest solo albums are stellar. Here’s a track from War of the Worlds, Pt. 2:

I can accept that, a great album.

I was going to do Overkill - Horrorscope, but I like Kreator a bit more than Overkill. Man I miss classic thrash…

I would certainly agree with that, Kreator are one of the best.

Not sure if it’s my age (probably) but 80’s thrash just seems so good

Henry Rollins before Liar:

I gave Souls Of Black a listen a few days ago and that really hasn’t aged very well but these earlier albums still hold up so well.

Never really a big fan of uk punk (except the Clash) but I love American hardcore and crossover stuff.

yeah Souls of Black is rough now. even their new stuff i like more. it’s amazing some of these 80s bands are still producing decent material so many years later. Seems like Kreator is about to release a new album, they’ve been releasing singles that sound really good. That’s from Tidal.

Kreator’s riffs are insanely catchy, especially the albums as of late. I’m not so much onboard with their lyrical content, but they certainly have a schtick and are sticking to it (kind of like Slayer). I’ve actually ben quite impressed with the three singles they’ve released for the new album - looking forward to it’s release!

They are a bit of a one trick pony with the lyrics, it would be nice to see them explore a bit more. But yes, those riffs, pure power and rhythm. There’s a riff in Riot Of Violence at the 1:43 mark that I’ve been obsessed with for going on 20 years now. I just love how they change tempo into this chugging riff then grind back into the lyrics. Pure energy. I’m also excited for the new album, those singles very solid. I especially like Strongest of the Strong.

Agreed - I actually listened to this a little while back and was amazed how terrible it sounds - regardless of how amazing Alex Skolnick is.
