The Litter Box

I have an extra cable that was being used on the 6xx. The exact cable that came with the 660. Same situation using different cable so it’s not the cable. Also used on two different amps/ dacs. Same situation.
Happening on both channels but intermittently.
It could be that the 660s is very sensitive to my electrical source. Where as my 6xx,elex,he400i are not.
Just strange.
At any rate i just sent it back via UPS Cost was $41 with insurance

One other situation that my wife reminded me of.
Sennheiser only offers you a refund. You need to repurchase. However the price is now $100 higher! Even on Amazon it’s back to 499. So if i want to repurchase it will cost me $499 plus tax! Hence $ 107 additional cost.
Do you think that’s fair?

In this case, if you really want a discounted brand new 660S, you may have to wait a little longer. I have seen it with 100 bucks discount about 3-4x during the year. That’s a bummer, I know.

I may call sennheiser and speak to a supervisor. Maybe thay will honor the old price.

Not really.

Smart people? People who have been burned by not reading them in the past? I read them. I don’t mean this in a derogatory manner, but this might be a lesson for you. It’s not a corporate conspiracy to screw you over, or even a terrible return policy.

Of course, if you want confirmation of that, you could just go ask a lawyer. I don’t think you’ll be in the office long before they tell you that you’re S.O.L.

No you don’t.

I’m sympathetic to your situation, just not your point of view. I hope you end up getting a good pair of headphones. Good luck!

I respectfully disagree with you . So your saying only dumb people buy from sennheiser! Sennheiser practically begs you to buy from them. Look at those large buy now stickers. Are you therefore saying no one should buy anything from sennheiser because of there crappy rules!
Lets take an exaggerated example.
I recieved a smashed up headphone. I am then forced to pay back shipping costs as well as paying an additional $ 107 because the sale is over. They only allow repurchase and hence your screwed. They need to be called out regardless of what their rules are. You say its not a terrible return policy? REALLY!
I will bet you that people reading this thread may now be inclined to never buy from sennheiser again.
This is just plain wrong regardless of their policy.
They need to be strongly criticized.
Screw the fanboys!

You didn’t.

If you did, and were daft enough to accept the shipment, I am sure it would have been handled differently.

No one here can make it better for you.

Getting all worked up at others won’t help. Accept that they have a different view to you and move on; ranting is not going to change anything. At most, anyone reading your posts on this will just buy from a dealer instead of direct.

Daft enough to accept the shipment? How the hell would you know until you opened the box!! Should i run after the FedEx guy to come back! You are assuming i have ex-ray vision.
I will say it again. You need to call this shit out! If you move on the offenders will not.
Im done!

Yeah, that’s not cool. So it sounds like this is being handled as a product return rather than a warranty service issue?

I cannot imagine ANY scenario in which a headphone as light, and well built, as the HD660S would arrive “smashed up” and there not be visible damage to the exterior shipping box.

The mass of the headphones and the packing used make it impossible; they’d have to be smashed up before they were put in the original product box, never mind the shipping box.

Call what out?

That you received a product you say is defective, and that the manufacturer is accepting the return without questions and otherwise is acting in 100% in accordance with their own published policies?

I see no problem there.

Yes, them paying for return shipping would be a nicer policy for the customer, but that’s not their policy. And it didn’t change after you bought the headphone.

And, sure, it’d be nice if they did an exchange instead of a return/reorder. But I am 100% sure that if you had not gone making threats to a customer service rep, that has ZERO ability to change company policy, and instead had politely asked them what could be done to get a replacement pair at the price you originally paid they’d have been more than happy to accommodate you. If nothing else, with a discount code for your re-order.

I bet you’re not …

It was just an exaggeration. You couldn’t figure that out? Ok lets change it to a cracked yoke. Does that meet with your approval?
Hopefully im done now. The problem is your an incurable fanboy.

I’ve posted more than one negative issue with Sennheiser, both product and customer service, so that doesn’t hold any water whatsoever.

Also, you can quit your name-calling - you will not be warned again.

It’s called “reductio ad absurdum”.

How would the yoke get cracked (you can bend and yank it like you wouldn’t believe and it’ll be just fine) without visible exterior damage? It wouldn’t.

If you’d handled yourself differently, you probably would have gotten a different result.

I said only what I said. No more, no less. All of that is you trying to put words into my mouth to support your delusional narrative.

Welcome to life.

When I was diagnosed with cancer I was feeling a little worse than you.
No policies, no warranties.
I just had to fight for my life.
I fought. And I won. Many other people fought and lost their battles.

As far as I can understand your hanger Sennheiser’s respecting the rules and yes, they are their rules and we have to accept them.

I had problems with the headband of my HD660s.
I kindly asked to Sennheiser if they could send me a spare part otherwise I’d order the piece at my expenses.
They reached back, made me explain what the issue was and decided to make an “exception” to their rules and sent me the piece for free in 3 days.
Maybe I’ve been lucky.
Maybe in life kindness and politeness pay more than rants.
It’s a question of choices.
You decide what your path is.

Anger usually doesn’t help in human relations nor helps health.
Make worst things useful, learn how to deal with them and how to turn then in your favour.
What happened was a lesson if you want and there are lessons out there that will cost you more than $40. Learn from it and make it useful for you.
