What were the last three IEM’s you either bought or tried?

I haven’t heard the IE900 but the IE600 is amazingly comfortable!

Same shell dimensions, if I’m not mistaken.

Likely to rival with the SE846 under sleep conditions.

How is the wax management? It keeps flowing, right? Sorry, can’t sleep with IEMs and it’s not due the confort. :speak_no_evil:

Unfortunately, I can’t comment as I luckily do not usually have issues with wax. My type of wax is dry as well, which generally plays nicer with IEMs.

Right, we should probably save the details for the “Ear Wax” thread.

  1. Softears Twilight - The latest addition to my collection. Single DD set that does the fuller lower-midrange style that I prefer without the upswing on the treble presence, making it more appropriate for genres where I find treble too intense (also making it more “forgiving”.)

  2. GoldPlanar GL-AMT16 - Single AMT which, if I understand, is the first implementation that’s tuned “appropriately” unlike the Obravo EAMT-2C. Most resolving set in the collection with tack sharp imaging, and depending on the nozzle selection, the ability to go from a stock LCD-5-like sound to something much leaner, but ultra clear-sounding. Great for gaming.

  3. qdc 8SL - My 8 Multi-BA all-rounder. It’s the “fun” one of the TOTL qdc siblings like the Anole VX and Gemini. Another instance of me liking mid-bass & lower mids, but in a more mainstream v-shaped package.

Bought = Tried:

  • Penon Audio Fan 2. A fun pleasant IEM, easy to listen to. I (YMMV) think that Penon tries some interesting things with their IEMs and while there are better IEMs in my collection, I still learn something that adds to my overall appreciation.
  • Vision Ears VE8. Very late to the party. Quality IEM. I think I prefer the EXT, but this ain’t half bad.
  • Moondrop Stellaris. Moondrop + planar = got to try it. Haven’t really formed an opinion yet. It might be good. It might be meh.

Simple tastes:

  • 7Hz Timeless
  • Moondrop Kato
  • Dunu Titan S (dog walking IEM, unless it’s raining in which case KZ ATE)

Have a pair of Moondrop variations on the way from AliExpress 11.11 (many screaming deals by the way).

Elysian Annihilator, Project Red, and the Helios.

The first two are still on the way but I’ve spent some time with the Helios and it’s impressive.

Sennheiser i600 (love the size and weight, of which it punches above)
7 Hz Timeless (good value)
64 Audio U12T (best all-rounder)

Just got a bunch in this week:
Moondrop Chu 2: A lot more fun gaming than I thought, nice improvement on the original.
Truthear Zero Blue: Good all around, Harman curve, lush vocals, piano, violins. Needs a little more current. Must have less than 1.2ohm output impedance or sound changes for the worse.
ZiiGaat NUO: Reduce the 9khz peak by 3db and the bass quality is great. Edges on sides made them uncomfortable after 30 minutes or they’d be terrific. Nice tuning except the treble peak.
7hz Salnotes Zero and also got the Zero:2 to compare: Not a fan of the original, but the 2 version is so good I’m keeping them as a daily driver IEM to replace the Simgot EA500 which is saying something because I like them a lot also. I can jump into a game or play any music without equalizing. They’re the keepers of the bunch.Tips are flimsy and clown colors, so plan on replacing them. Cable on the original is a lot nicer than the sequel, but it’s standard .78mm and accepts the rounded ends (original has a rectangular divot).

Seems like ZERO is the new marketing buzzword. Must be drinking too much Pepsi/Coke ZERO.

Personally I think I prefer the originals to the 2. I can live with the extra bit of bass on the 2 but I feel they are missing a little in the 6k range.

Have you ever boarded into the ChiFi yourself, @pennstac?

Yes, but just the shallow end of the pool. At least as far as IEMs go. I’m not a big fan of IEMs in general but having some Audeze LCDi4 in ears (not sure if I can call them IEMs) that I do like, I find it hard to justify $300+ purchases.

On the low end, sure, I buy and gift.Have Truthear Zero:Red, DUNU Titan S. And some old Kaanas Pro also. ZSN somewhere too.
