Good Eye!

The LCD cable is actually one of my favorite stock cables I have come across and robbed from my LCD-X’s.

I share the same opinion on the wood!

Later has arrived. Thanks! :+1:

I love my new Aeolus and I know that pads are an important part of the ZMF sound, so I appreciate the advice. And the suede feels so nice against my ears.

Hey guys, how do you enjoy the Aeolus over the Auteur?

Does the Aeolus suffer from a lack of detail retravel and openness like the Auteur? The Auteur lacks those things but makes up for it by being neutral and so natural sounding its amazing

I’m not a patient man.

Anyone have any experience with Zach and service work on headphones you bought second hand? I’m getting twitchy and wondered what the risks of buying zmf used were. (Other than the insane resale value)

I’ve had Zach repair two of my headphones. One was exploded by an amplifier, the other just had a weird driver issue on the left side.

I had my headphones back inside of a month, in both cases. I really don’t think this is bad turn around time at all, as I did have a Samsung television I had warranty work done on, and the thing was out for four months “awaiting parts” at their certified service center. If the Samsung experience is normal, Zack is a rockstar.

Different experience for me at Samsung. I had a Samsung 40" LCD TV fail exactly one day out of warranty. Samsung sent a contract repair tech out to the house to look at it, and he deemed it unrepairable. Samsung sent me a brand new TV, and an upgraded one at that.

I’m not saying my Samsung experience was bad, just that it took forever.

They didn’t send a tech to my house though, and it was for a 65" TV. Odd.

Samsung “high-end” washer and dryer …

Failed after three months.

Two weeks to get them “inspected” … three months estimated for repair.

Who has time, let alone patience for that?

Samsung 8000 series TV (for my GeoChron) …

Works fine for months. Come home to a “firmware update(d)” message. Now TV randomly turns itself back on after manual or HDMI POWER-off.

No apparent fix.

Won’t buy Samsung again.

This has been several years ago. The TV that crapped out was a 720p. It was replaced with a 1080i.

Don’t blame you. I’m in the market for a refrigerator and it’s boiling down to Samsung versus LG.

Counter depth less than 71" tall limits my choices. I am reading lots of reviews on quality…

Short story long is refrigerator life expectancy is about 8 years now. I’ve heard that from three different refrigerator sales guys, one of which I’ve know for over ten years. Stuff doesn’t last like it used to.

MY appliance repairmen left our house yesterday after working on our $3000 LG fridge,
Model: LMXC23746D. Its a piece of crap. They have been out twice in the last 3 months, one was the ice maker died, the second the Compressor died. He said he spends most of his time working on LG and Samsung Fridges. PS there was a huge lawsuit against LG for cooling failures. https://www.lgfridgesettlement.com/ I turned all of my paper work in, almost $1000 to fix the dam thing. I will never buy a LG appliance again.

I have had a few issues with Samsung products over the years, LG has been pretty solid for what I have purchased. The LG OLEDs are quite nice and I was able to buy their top of the line screen (at the time) without all of the “smart” TV nonsense that I’ll never use and only serves to jack up the price. Other companies seem to add a lot of unneeded “upgrades” to their TOTLs to make them seem fancier, such nonsense. Reminds me of Focal using those bloody Lemo connectors for the Utopia for no real discernible reason other than to say they use them.

However, my local appliance shop wont carry LG products outside of TVs as they cant easily get parts for them. Samsung has gotten better around here as they invested in a parts warehouse for the region so turnaround time is quick. My Samsung issues were resolved within days of calling the shop.

I live in a smallish community so the local shop has to be able to service everything they sell, and within a reasonable time frame, in order to stay in business so service here is actually better than in bigger population centres. They also price match big box stores and will order in anything they can fix so why shop big box stores or leave town. Smart business model. They have also developed a good reputation so all the million dollar cottagers who hide from Covid around here shop wth them too.

Its a little hole in the wall shop that you could easily miss, but you walk into it and the first thing you see is a $6000 fridge! I could buy a lot of L30s to keep me warm in the winter with that kind of money.
