Whoa! I just might have to sell my Auteur and Aeolus for these.

It’s completely reasonable to want a bigger house so I can fit a bigger desk just to put all my ZMFs on, right?

The word “reasonable” simply doesn’t apply in this hobby.

I’ve been militating for a new ZMF planar ever since I got my Ori (still have it/still love it). My dream ZMF planar would be an open-back. Looks like dreams actually come true sometimes.

Now I’ll wait to find the price (which may dash the dream). But hey, 2 steps forward, 1 step back.

Yes quite reasonable to want a bigger house for any number of reasons. My wife wants a bigger and squarer kitchen and a she-shed. I want a large main room so I can fit some nice big speakers like the Klipsch corner horns along with some subs like @Lou_Ford has been discussing. A 3 car garage with nice flooring, good light, and some working space would be great too. And a pool big enough to swim laps. Ideally, it should be located less than a quarter mile from all of my favorite locations.

Robert Heinlein writes about a big old house with 12 doors. In the winter, when his cat wants to go out, he has to go from door to door to door, because that cat is certain that one of them is the door into summer.

$3200 for the first few weeks after release, $3500 after that.

Wow! Very excited for this. Love my Atrium, but wouldn’t mind trying out my first planar by Zach.

LOL! Heinlein was a great writer.

I hate you for providing that information! :+1: Of course that makes me want to order them on release.

However, I just can’t do it. Already spent WAY too much this year on my audio, and Rosson RAD-0 was my latest purchase (which I love btw :sunglasses:)

There’s something to be said about not ordering a product at launch. You don’t know how it’ll sound until extensive reviews come out and you’ll only really get positive impressions from people who are excited about their new toy.

With his fool’s gold stacked up all around him
From a killing in the market on the war
The children left King Midas there, as they found him
In his counting house where nothing counts but more

[Chorus]
And he thought he heard the echoes of a penny whistle band
And the laughter from a distant caravan
And the brightly painted line of circus wagons in the sand
Fading through the door into summer

Hmmm. I thought his fool’s gold was stolen by pyrites.

Very true, and it’s much more than I’d be in position to spend on it anyway. :sunglasses:

Doesn’t mean I’d wouldn’t want one nonetheless  I would!

Hahaha! I love it! Not something I’d expect to see on headphone thread.

Which ZMF is considered the warmest?

Atticus/closed; Aeolus/open (using the same driver)

I had a new Atticus and sold it (very amp picky, plus I do better w/open backs in general). Bought a new Aeolus and kept it for the wonderfully musical sound.

Warm, yes, but that can easily be moderated by pad choices.

how warm is it compared to the VC or Atrium? and how much less technical?

I had another A***** ZMF in mind, but can’t disagree with @Pharmaboy 's reply. I believe that pads have a significant impact on the sound of ZMF headphones. (My Atrium is my warmest ZMF, but that may very well come down to the pads I have on them. And I haven’t done a bunch of A/B testing to map out all of the variables :).) Bottom line: If you are ZMF curious (just speculating from the question), decide what you want - open/closed, other attributes based on reviews and other descriptions - and then play with pads.
