ZMF Headphones - Official Thread

Well… no idea!
I have a head larger than normal and it fits me perfectly, but I have no idea about my size and I don’t have a measure band to find out.

I have one notch further down than Tyler (his head is BIG ) so I think most people can use it.

Being a gent of similar head size, please report back on the fit if you do decide to get the head strap. Big heads want to know!!

You copying me now hey.

FYI.

The rod went up 2 clicks with the suede strap.

My head was already 2 clicks from top. So I’m now maxed out. But works. So if you are 1 click from top already, might be a bit snug.

I have a big head. Z1R on setting 8. 6xx near max. That sort of big. Hats don’t fit big.

For sure, will report back once I get the cans and the suede strap. Will also count how many notches I have left. That way we can have a fun game of count your “notches”

So according to New Era my head size is considered large, will take a shot and request one. Worse case scenario I can donate it to the a new ZMF owner.

Reckon mines bigger  haha.

It also depends on the shape you prefer the headband. A lot of people seem to leave the headband quite flat, which is how they arrive. I rebent mine considerably to be much more curved and sit better for my head, it can shift what notch you use around a bit too doing that.

I think you can request longer rods…but I’m not positive…

I thought the Verites were automatically one notch longer. You could probably ask Zach and he’d do it for you on another model. He be great.

Yeah @ZMFheadphones

Where is the big head love

I am so curious to hear how the ZMFs will sound on my Hugo TT2 + Cayin HA-300 (Psvane ACME 300b tubes + Sylvania 6SN7W metal base tubes). If anyone has Verite Ltd/Verite/Verite Close, Aueteur, or any other ZMFs in Los Angeles, I want to invite you to a listening session on my system!

Does Denmark and an Aeolus and an Eikon (in 2-3 weeks time) count? :sunglasses:
(I love your stack if you can call a TT2 and the HA-300 for a stack… Both are on my upgrade list, so I would love to hear how it sounds - and there is only 5506 miles to LA)

Oh man, the combo I have right now is just absolutely divine! BUT I made the mistake of having my friend come over with his M-Scaler, the $1700 Wave Storm Reference BNC cables, and LCD-4, and now I have severe upgraditis, lol!

He also brought his Innuos Streamer, too!

If you are willing to drive over to Torrance, The Source AV design group has many high end headphones I believe. You can call them asking if there are ZMF models you can demo. Wouldn’t be surprised if they have all of them. This is a very good place for SoCal.

I don’t think Source AV carries ZMF. They do have a nice headphone room though. Bought my DCA Ether 2 there.

I know The Source Av well and they don’t have them because Zach from ZMF decided to sell direct. Upscale Audio have leftovers, but that’s about it

Do any of you have any XLR headphone cables such as the OCF entry level ZMF cables or similar quality You want to part with?

After +2 months waiting my Eikon arrived today. They are African Blackwood like my Aeolus bc I just love that wood and the picture below in sunlight shows why

The main strap is also in suede which is my mistake, but I can order a leather strap later. So everything is black, even the wood, more or less, and the listening has begun. I don’t expect that much now, it needs burn in, but it is clearly a TOTL HP and I love just to touch and look at it.

ZMF fanboy for sure
