A70 pro clicks off briefly

What model are you having issues with?: Topping A70pro

Describe your issue with the most detail you can: Every once in a long while my amp shuts off and clicks right back on, couldn’t be more than a second. I know it’s my amp and not the dac because I hear a click which the DAC doesn’t produce. Headphones are Focal Elex on a harmonicdyne zeus 4.4pentacon adapted to XLR 4-pin. DAC is SMSL SU-9

How long ago was it purchased?: A70 purchased November ‘23 SMSL purchased November ‘22 Focal Elex purchased March ‘23 XLR adapter purchased very recently, I haven’t paid attention to what past the dac/amp has been used when this happens but the timing says the adapter is suss. But it’s intermittent…. There shouldn’t be any issues as it’s balanced to balanced?

*It happened again today on a different cable, no adapter. When I looked at the amp the VU meter wasn’t off or wasn’t turning back on. All I know is the sound stops and the amp clicks.

Now that I think about it, this has been happening for a few months. I thought it was a tidal thing because I normally put everything on low and listen to music. But it doesn’t click off most of the time. I haven’t really paid attention to whether it’s all audio or just music. I’m going to see what warranty it has but I doubt it’s 2 years. If it doesn’t get worse I can easily live with it. ***I know it isn’t clipping due to the VU meter

Pure speculation, but I’m guessing the 12V Trigger or one of the switches/buttons is defective or suffering from interference. This will remain speculation unless it stops when moved away from other cables and devices, or until the unit is taken apart and checked by a qualified technician.
