Astell&Kern have been busy to release the new SR25 which takes place of the SR15.
I am curious about something. Does A&K use that slanted display for any specific reason for the Norma line? I mean, they don’t do that for their flagships, so what’s the point.
It has to do with the small size and the ergonomics of the hand. Since the SR line is palm size, your hand will tend to tilt. I thought this would bother me at first but after receiving the SR15 it actually fit and works out very natural specially when using the volume knob one handed.
this one is really intersting!
so it´s now with LDAC support, Android 9.0, a faster cpu and a bigger battery
any other important changes? - found the marketing speech in the shop not as helpfull
which is not a problem - the SR25 could feel better in the hand
I hope my local store is adding it to the portfolio
Same here, I am really looking forward to been release!
We dont have a local shop that stocks DAP’s, I really hope I make it to the headphones.com preview program.
@taronlissimore Is headphones.com going to stock the SR25? Thanks!
Curious about this little unit for sure ! Hopefully it’s a little more neutral than the SR15, which felt a bit too warm for me.
A preview tour would be great though, totally agree with you @DEXCOM7 !
so this review keeps me interested.
I would like to know, if there is a link feature (similar to Fiio or Hiby link) where I can use my mobile phone or tablet as remote and keep the SR25 in my pocket or on the table. This could really help with the small display.
According to the specifications on the Astell & Kern website for the SR25, the output impedance is 1.8 ohm from the unbalanced 3.5 mm out and 1.6 ohm from the 2.5 mm balanced out. I assume this would work well with the CA Andromeda, no, and not make it overly bassy or dark?
That’s pretty much ideal for the Andromeda.
Right around 2 ohms was my personal preference … with a bit of give and take to taste.
Thank you, that’s good to hear. With the SR25’s longer battery life, and with the Sony ZX507 superseding the ZX300 (and costing $130 more than its predecessor), the SR25 could be an excellent option.
found out about the remote app function, I had asked above
@taronlissimore is headphones.com going to stock the SR25?
I’m sure they will
Yes we will be! Dealers can’t start taking pre-orders until May 4th so you’ll see it up on Headphones.com on Monday.
Ok, SR25 w/2.5mm balanced to xlr adapter to the Stellia … is a fantastic combo…I really like it… it is giving my desktop synergies with the Stellia a run for their money.
only a couple tracks in but dang… it works really well together…
Mother of God, Please make him stop!
1hr later and I am down 4k LOL!
stop stop stop… is all in my head!
LOL
Ha! I still like my Cayin better…but the SR25 has better synergy with the Stellia I can tell already… let me swap to my VC with the SR25 and see how that pairs
