Very much enjoyed this. Watched it this morning.
So my friend. Here is my only complaint about the CRBN is that it is really sensitive to that popping noise otherwise known as electro-farts.
You gotta be careful moving them around on your head. That would be my only gripe.
I think the CRBN is a unique sounding E-Stat. Deserves its place. Needs a lot of volume though to sound exciting I find.

Really looking forward to hearing the CRBN 2 at some point. I think its the headphone release I’m looking forward to most at the moment from the things that have been announced. The CRBN was a good headphone, but I always felt that it was a learning experience for Audeze and that a CRBN 2 might be more of a full realization of the concept. The build quality and feel of the CRBN was pretty much the best on the market so they had that nailed down already. If they can increase the spatial performance and detail, and maybe go for a slightly more normal hifi tuning, that could be a serious winning combo. Really dig the new copper accents also.

I just hope that we don’t see a significant price increase.

If you have to hope, you can’t afford it.

Price increase? I’m hoping for a return to non-shortage, non-panic, non-stimulus check prices. It can happen. It is happening with other industries.

I’m really interested in these, too. I was really impressed with CRBN [1] when I first heard it a few years ago, and while it has suffered in public opinion since then, I really think Audeze is on to something with their attempt (successful or otherwise) to balance electrostat speed & detail with body & bass dynamics. I’m excited to see that Audeze, post-Sony acquisition, is still invested in this journey, and excited to see where this next step takes us. Objectively speaking, they have achieved something extraordinary with CRBN and we should all be curious to see how far they can take this unique take on e-stat tech.
