Someone help me. I’m going in loops.

I want an affordable headphone cable for the Verite Open.

I would like some adapter’s so that I have options of 4 Pin XLR (current rig), 6.5mm (impending tubey something) and either 2.5 or 4.4 balanced (BTR5).

Peraipt is cheap, but plain looking and adapter’s have to get elsewhere

Hart Audio is cheap and adapters for days, but reports they are a bit stiff. Have to be for price.

Forza do some nice looking braided options, starting to get pricey though.

Aurealis is a Aussie brand, so support local.

Someone just choose or recommend one for me. Sick of thinking about it. Go.

If you want ‘modular’ based cable then Hart audio would be the one, though I cannot speak directly to this company as I don’t have any of their products though I know other members on this forum that really enjoy the flexibility The hart audio cables bring.

I do have a Peraipt cable and it is well made though I highly prefer my Forza AudioWorks Cable, I have the Claire HPC Mk2 with the Neutrik Balanced option. It’s very well made(most important aspect I look for in a Cable) it has significantly reduced microphonics(my second most important quality I look for in a Cable) is light weight and very flexible.

Here is a ‘potato quality’ picture of my Forza Cable

Hope this helps

Thanks mate.

The Forza with the black tinted coating looks super good too.

The base model, 4 strand copper, is fairly affordable.

No problem!

I have seen pictures of the black tinted and yes they look good as well.

Yes the base model is fairly affordable, I went for the ‘middle of the line’ with the Claire HPC Mk2, as it ‘checked’ all of the boxes for me regarding what I was looking for.

I would buy from Forza again.

The Claire has double the strands, which makes the weave up to the split quite nice looking, but especially from split to cup, having more than two strands to weave looks nicer.

Would need a variety of adapters still.

Do you have a soldering iron? It’s a whole lot cheaper to make them yourself. That’s what I do.

Even if I did sir, I cannot use one.

I would like to learn, I’d like to make a Crack too. Can finish the wood well, just no electronics exp.

I’d be happy to help if I can. There are a few good videos on how to solder, and I’d be happy to help with parts recommendations or pointers on how-to.

Send me a cable and I’ll reverse engineer it :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t get much time to myself unfortunately. Own business, wife, 2 young children…most my awake hours are allocated.

Keep an eye on the used market. People change headphones, and then sell the upgraded cables separate. I’ve bought several headphone cables that way. I bought a 20 foot Cardas Cross off of eBay and had it reterminated (by Cardas) into a 20 foot extension XLR4 cable for the living room. Cost me a fraction of what a new one would be.

Yeah I am. A lot of people couldn’t be bothered shipping to Australia though.

Does MASSDROP service Australia. There have been some decent cables there. I bought a 1.5m Cardas Clear Light for about $160ish USD . Periapt has done business there too. They make decent cables. I have one.

They do, postage can get up there sometimes.

Think I’m 2 more beers away from just ordering a Forza braided one and being done with it.

Well…I just ordered Forza Claire HPC Mk.2. Few glasses of wine did help a bit lol.

Thanks to this thread and recommendations from members!

I ran out of beer so didn’t. Order a Hart Audio modular system the next day. All the terminations I need in one cable! Won’t be as nice as the Forza though. Cheap cables.

Traded a toilet roll for a few cartons and we’re good to go again.

Becoming cheaper to wipe your bum with ZMF Suede pads …

Hahaha, seriously though what is it with all the toilet roll panick buying. It’s a flu like illness not a diarreah epidemic.
