I’ve just been using the ZMF suedes and rinsing thoroughly just to be safe.
I’ve found the (b)ass has tightened up, the mids have gone a bit muddy and the highs have smoothed right out, though sometimes a bit grainy, as a result.
Haha nice one. And you are correct in saying people are sheep. I blame the media, certainly in UK they’re going overboard. I know it’s very serious and especially so for me I get it. But it’s on all the time. Never ending.

We are vegetarian and have been for years. We go through lots of toilet paper normally as a result of fairly efficient digestive system. So we stocked up because we don’t plan going into stores for a while. I think most people just don’t want to run low in a few weeks when the corona situation may be a lot worse and social distancing will be critical.
I am well stocked too. I was well stocked before the panic. I load up when it goes on sale. It’s not like it goes bad. The shelves are very empty at stores. My neighbor who was not well stocked hit eleven stores before she found some.
Agree, bidet is good but I had to install one that goes on top in place of the seat versus a separate fixture. Having 4-5 girls around it can’t be stated enough how much less toilet paper is used these days LOL.
WyWires has a 40% off sale thru March 20. I just ordered their Platinum headphone cable for the Utopias. (The stock Utopia cable has already gotten damaged somehow and I’m getting no sound from one channel – and the length is ridiculous for desktop usage). Will report back on the sound.
I have a Hart Audio cable coming soon for the Verite. I know it won’t be the softest/nicest one, or prettiest, but its the cheapest way into the modular setup. So Cable plus a 6.5mm end, a XLR end and a 2.5mm balanced end, with a custom choice sleeving, worked out to $110 USD delivered to Australia. Cheaper than most other places even before the modular part.
I’m hoping the Forza Claire HPC Mk.2. cable is not too heavy like Periapt’s stuff. Owners please chime in! it’s too late I know but I’m curious regardless
Thanks @jb77! I’ve purchased some cables solely for the sake of utility+value and I regretted this approach now. I found out I like to play around with the cable while listening I want something nice and light after all.
Lol. With headphones the only place one should think of value is at the receiving end, the phones themselves. Put any value upstream and Value is all you’ll be hearing. Personally I don’t care much for that band.
Reminds me of my first desktop audio setup. Had a very decent USB-powered DAC so I had lavished money on beefy PSU, upscale motherboard (with sh1tty onboard sound turned off), nice CPU, RAM galore, expensive RCA interconnects from DAC to amp etc. But I was constantly bugged by electronic noise during quiet passages in my music, drove me berserk. Especially considering that the SQ from that particular DAC was potent and powerful. Also I had chosen it over a self-powered DAC precisely because I wanted to avoid the little buzz these tiny PSU’s often produce and now here I was dealing with the noise created by a monster PSU instead. Way to go!
That’s when a friend asked me why I found it okay to use a $3.99 USB cable to connect the DAC to a USB port on the computer. Doh!
Has anyone had any luck finding quality 1/4" to 1/4" right angle adapters? I bought this one to reduce strain on my Oidio cable while using my Bottlehead Crack, but it’s WAY too noisy.
Hey @Torq. Really appreciate you pointing Norne Audio out to me. I did a bit of reading, and have had some back-and-forth with Trevor over email. He sends very detailed replies, but I’ve found them to often miss the point of my questions, and wondering if I could pick your brain given your experience. I recently got some Utopias and want to find an upgrade cable. I’m not in a huge rush, but I’m pretty sure I’m targeting something endgame-ish, given that I have yet to come across a resale market for headphone cables, and don’t want to throw money away on an in-between step. Given that I love getting every ounce of detail possible, I think I’m aiming at something all-silver (right?), but can’t quite stomach something along the lines of Kimber’s Axios, which would cost more than my Utopias (gasp!). Trevor seems to recommend the Silvergarde, but I can’t quite get out of him how much the number of wires (4 vs 8) or the gauge of the cable (21,20,18,17awg) matters. The Silvergarde “standard” is 4 wires, while most of the copper cables are 8 wires, which makes me wonder if I’d be compromising and regret not shelling out for 8 (or a larger gauge). Anyway, I’d be super appreciative of any guidance you could give on which factors are more important, and which have fairly minimal returns. I love reading all of your posts, and your opinions have been SO helpful in my research, so thank you.
