I bought a used WA7 setup earlier this year and it only came with a 1 ft cable, so I was limited to the spacing between the tubes. I had reluctantly avoided buying the longer cable because it’s a massive rip-off, hoping I’d find the connectors and make my own, but without much luck, and so I gave in and just bought the cable anyway… But now I can space the tube amps apart.

Update with the new Bifrost 2 in place connected (balanced) to the Jotunheim. Off to the right is a Denon DCD-50 - using as CD transport (mentioned this one in another thread), connected via SPDIF (coax) to the Bifrost 2. I’m very pleased with the performance so far (have not yet tried the native DAC in the CD player, which is a 32-bit 192kHz Burr Brown PCM5102). At the very right you can see a dongle/antenna above the CD player, which is an Avantree DG-60 aptX HD Bluetooth transmitter. The dongle shows up as a sound device on the PC, so I can use it as the native Windows device and also through Roon to broadcast to my Sony WH-1000mx3. Sounds reasonably good for Bluetooth.

Amazon at its most useful. And yes it is ideal for my collection of spaghetti and phones.

All I can say about this setup is I can’t stop listening to it. I will post post impressions soon, since I introduced the M-Scaler into the chain yesterday.
I think I have reached my end-game. Out of the box the M-Scaler is nothing short of magnificent. I will add if this setup only stays the same without improvement, I will be very happy.

Have you ever auditioned the dCS Bartok? I’ve seen a few people around the interwebs move from a DAVE to the Bartok.
I’ve auditioned the Bartok, the Rossini and the full Vivaldi stack.
I did not find them to be better than DAVE (or DAVE with the M-Scaler in the case of the full stack), just “different” - and not so much that you’d be able to tell without very focused and deliberate listening (at odds with using them for just enjoying music).
But bear in mind that a) I audition things like that blind, and b) personal preferences vary.
Anyway, for me, I’d rank them out as follows:
- DAVE <> Bartok
- M-Scaler + DAVE > Bartok
- M-Scaler + DAVE > Rosinni
- M-Scaler + DAVE <> Vivaldi (full stack)

Recent upgrades ( Dec 2019 ): Cayin iDAP-6MK2 from vs one pictured earlier ( new Dac 3rd from the top, in the stack ) and to the left, my new Allnic HPA-3000GT tube amp.

No kidding! I’d be worried about room acoustics with that.
For reference that is an 82" Samsung, these are Magnepan 3.7, 71" tall. I am in a temporary apartment, looking for my next home. These were purchased for a future room that has not been realized yet. Too good of a deal on these second hand to pass up. After this picture I have switched them around to move the tweeter strip to the outside, this reduced the narrow high frequency path and gave them a much larger sound stage. The room is not perfect but they do sound amazing all the same.
