Focal Stellia Closed-Back Headphones - Official Thread

If only! I mean, I liked the dealer I got my Elegias from, but who knows if they stock the Stellia. I’ll just have to get in touch with them and see what they can do. :innocent:

Hello,

O sure, but the Eleiga is 200 off, it was lower. They are probably offloading stock for the holidays or something, people can have sales no?

I might pick these up for now and try them out, then return both and grab the Stellia.

Sounds like without compromise everyone here would buy the Stellia hands down without thinking twice. That’s the answer I was looking for and I really thank everyone here for your help.

Most audio dealers (and dealers in other domains) are required to maintain whatever advertised price the manufacturer requires. It’s called “Minimum Advertised Pricing”, and is an industry norm.

In most cases, a dealer can SELL the item for whatever they want.

But they can’t advertise or list something for less than the current approved rate from the manufacturer.

Usually if you see a company doing so, outside a manufacturer-sponsored/approved promotion (which will appear across all authorized dealers), then either that company isn’t an authorized dealer in the first place (there goes any warranty, especially with Focal) or they’re quite likely not to be one for much longer.

Building bridges with matchsticks is usually a bad idea…

As @andrew confirmed, this is correct. It’s why you don’t see Amazon selling the HD 800S and the HD 820 direct anymore. It’s only sold through third parties now and the price is pretty much back to MSRP.

Online sales have been in a bit of a Wild West limbo for a couple years now but companies are starting to work pretty hard at getting pricing back in control.

I understand what you are saying, and think its more certainly worth having a warranty vs not.

The Clears are the same deal right now, they are 1100ish on Amazon. I suppose that’s the same deal.

The actual Amazon seller is electronics expo. Not sure Amazon or Electronics Expo are authorized dealers.

Well, I had convinced myself I could wait a while before making a decision on these, but am now super intrigued again with all the recent discussion. I love the Elegia, and if these are as notably better as everyone says, I just may have to pull the trigger. Will have to contact my ‘favorite’ dealer and see what deals might be available.

They are much better. Absolutely recommend them. @taronlissimore also advised me to ifi xdsd dac when I was looking to upgrade my dac. I can’t recommend this combination enough.

Though the Focal Arche might also be a good (or even better combo) because of the presets for the focal headphones.

Can’t argue with that. Arche was out of my budget.

xDSD with Elegia is a very good combination and can’t recommend it enough. It gets 90% listening time with a balanced oidio sound UK cable

  • for the Stellia or the Verité C it depends- maybe you get something with more resolution and depth like the Chord Qutest

Yea, these 3rd party sellers are bit sketch, I would much rather buy from a rep dealer such has headphones.com, MoonAudio, and BloomAudio.

Thank you for the warning, I really appreciate it.

Hey guys I hope you all had a great X-Mass or Holiday,

How do I find a vendor to allow me to Demo the Stellia’s?

I am very sad I am going to be returning my Focal Clears and Eliga’s to get the Stellia.

I love my Clears, so what i was thinking is… I would get the Elex as my open back to replace the clears due to being convinced to get the Stellia.

Go here and find a local dealer that has them. https://store.focal.com/?_ga=2.163865910.806723242.1577373753-1873282910.1577373753

Thank you very much, I live in Boston MA, there is nothing on the map unfortunately :frowning:

Try yelp and see if any one lists focal products. I had to call around and found only two at Texas.

Just checked Yelp :frowning: not much around Boston.

Looks like ill need to buy them and cross my fingers. Worst case I can always return them and get the Clears again.
