Yes, I visited in 2016 when I was in UK.
That’s beautiful!
I hope she decides to add headphone stands to her offerings, I’m sure she’d get significant interest here.
That’s a great looking stand for some great looking headphones!
I am jealous of all you guys that can keep your headphones on stands like that. Because I live somewhere that is very dry and is surrounded by agricultural land, dust is a major problem.
She is offering them. Mine is sort of a prototype. It’s going into her gallery. Most of her stuff is to order as each piece of wood is unique She uses live wood (wood with natural edges) not dimensional lumber.
She does do some standard items for shows like the kitchen stuff. I have some pics of the stand being made that I can post. She is curious about the demand for stands -– I told her we are a good demographic for her work.
The link is in the original post in blue - the web URL is www.rusticmountainchic.com Suzanne is always happy to talk about what you want and to send you pictures of wood she has on hand to use. She’s also open to special requests - I had her make a coffee cart for my office - that’s in the gallery now.
Here are some shots of the process and working with Rustic Mountain Chic.
First, thank you all for the interest in this. My Niece, Suzanne, decided to make a career change a few years ago and stop being a techie insurance systems sales engineer and do something she liked. ![]()
I told her about headphone stands and pointed her to this thread, so she could see I wasn’t actually more insane than usual. We talked a bit about design - my contribution was that the top works well with a bit of a dip so that it’s harder for things to slide off. We talked about thickness - Her original idea was a thicker vertical board, but there are considerations about pressure on pads - didn’t want to spread the headphones much. She does have the ability to vary almost anything.
At first, I was thinking about just a little color in the base, and more wood there, but I took Suzanne’s suggestion after she had a good look at the headphones. Here are some of the wood choices from stuff she had on hand:
After choosing a piece and getting a rough template, Suzanne experimented with how to present the live edge after we had decided on a clear river in the center:
Next, partway through the process, setting up frames for the resin. She has great control over the mix colors, swirls etc.
Finally, the blade before shaping, sanding, and polishing so it’s flat.
And really finally, here is my desk lamp of spalted maple (in my office) next to my old Tívoli radio (Henry Kloss design),
There are some outstanding headphone stands that are amazingly creative. So, I thought I would post a few pics of my very humble stand compared to the others.
It’s elegant. 20 Characters
You are most kind. Thank you.
Is this DIY or obtainable, be it ever so humble?
A friend of mine made it and I did the finishing work (a bit of sanding to make it very smooth to the touch). Attached are a couple more examples of his work. One is a beautiful table with a “floating” top. If you look closely (enlarge the picture) at the last table you will see a cat figure on the right side of the top.
Beautiful! I want one ![]()
Thanks! I appreciate that.
That’s nice
Great edge
Beautiful!
Stop doing this! Now I want one

You enjoy torturing us don’t you!
amazing work
Got a custom stand for my 1266 TC built by Suzanne at Rustic Mountain Chic after seeing @pennstac’s stand. TC’s have a weird shape and it’s hard to find a good looking stand that’s also functionally good. We went over the design together and then the wood selection etc. Pretty happy with the final result.
How did you not go with the Abyss stand? /s
Yours looks great!
Thanks! As much as I like the 1266, I bought it used and I don’t always agree with Abyss as a company. I don’t think that stand is worth $500 and it doesn’t even work with 1266 design anyways as it’ll fatigue the strap and rings so not sure what they were thinking, maybe just the Diana. Plus there is the added bonus of supporting a local artist.
